Wow, so in watching some videos on Youtube, I've learned that a lot more can go wrong with a Nagant than I thought.
It's a surplus weapon, of course its going to have problems. Unless it's Russian of course, then it should be able to survive a god damn nuclear strike :v:
Wow, so in watching some videos on Youtube, I've learned that a lot more can go wrong with a Nagant than I thought.
As long as you properly maintain it, I have no doubt mine will still be firing in 100 more years.
Never really saw what was so special about them, besides the fact that they're cheap. I'd take a Mauser or Enfield over one any day.
Well you could just get an Enfield and a Mosin :v:
Buy a gun for what you need, don't buy a nugget just because all the internet 1st Sargeant Chairforce OPERATORS are telling you to do it.
This made me laugh uncontrollably.

There is nothing special about it, except that people are ridiculous fanboys about soviet shit.
Why would you get an expensive [del]piston[/del] DI rifle when you can a simple, reliable and cheap as fuck bolt rifle
Because the U.S. allows for more types of fire arms in the market and a bolt-action rifle is not always the gun of choice.
Have fun cleaning after 300 rounds!
I don't understand that statement. First off, I clean after every range session, second cleaning a Nugget is more difficult than a normal gun because you have to be thorough due to the corrosive primer.
And of course the question of why would you fire over 300 rounds without cleaning it haha.
Unless you use corrosive primers, you don't really need to clean a nagant
Um..yes you do need to clean it.
You guys are arguing about whether or not a gun is cool. Lol all guns are interesting and fun in their own respects.
Not Springfield xD guns.
I actually find them totally uninteresting, then again, that's the thing about guns, we have all our opinions and thought on each matter.
The name " XD" it makes me think of that dumbass emote :v:
What's wrong with the XD?
What's wrong with assault rifles?
•Direct impingement a.ka residue and fouling everywhere
•Quite possibly the most awkward bolt system ever
•Loading handle is placed on back of receiver and pulled back along the stock
•Forward assist is trash and makes your hand bleed rather than get the bolt into battery
•Expensive
•Really sensitive when it comes to ammunition, cleaning and handling
•So
many
PARTS
•Buffer spring, meaning you need a big as fuck buffer tube, thus making it impossible to use folding stocks or similar with standard AR-15 setups (It's possible with overcomplicated, expensive custom stuff though!)
Every weapon has its flaws. Just because it's not an eastern bloc weapon doesn't make it bad. You seem to have that mindset for some reason.
Actually no, I'm not really fond of AK type rifles either. But those aren't flaws you can just pass off as "erryrifle has its fault". Obviously everything is shitty when you find the flaws and faults, but the whole AR mechanism is outdated and needs to be dumped.
If you want a good assault rifle, go for an HK33 type.
HK33 is pretty nice, so is FAL.
Oh how I long for a G3-type of rifle...
Have fun cleaning after 300 rounds!
What?
You dont clean every 300 rounds?
Edit:
Try cycling a dirty nugget some day, its like arm wrestling a grizzly bear.
226? 229? 220?
Whoa, whoa, whoa mister... before you go and give your hard earned money to SIG, which I love. Go to a gun store and hold anything that looks good to you. Make sure you like it first. I use to dislike the look of Glocks but then I held one, and looked down it's sights. Loved the damn thing now. All I'm getting at in my rambling and incoherent comment is go and make sure you like it or you might find you hate your gun.

This this thissss. Also look for the cheapest caliber you can find locally. Having a nice gun is useless if ammo is super expensive or hard to find, unless you can afford it.
Also just ordered a bunch of shit for my AK
4 mags ( https://www.apexgunparts.com/product_info.php/products_id/926 )
A bayonet ( https://www.apexgunparts.com/product_info.php/products_id/942 )
Sling ( https://www.apexgunparts.com/product_info.php/products_id/2175 )
Mag pouch ( https://www.apexgunparts.com/product_info.php/products_id/557 )
750 rds 5.45x39 ( http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=ABS54539FMJ )
And for my 10/22, I think I'm going to get this cheapo scope to replace my even cheaper airshit scope my friend gave me. ( http://www.marengoarmory.com/specials.html )
Did I done good?
My real purpose behind getting an AR is that in CA legal and range-usable ammo for any larger rifle caliber (7.62, .30-'06, .308) is around 1$ per round, when .223 is around 50 cents a round. And I really wouldn't like to get a full AR at once, I would much rather try to part out since it's my first time buying a complete universal lower and upper.

226? 229? 220?
Try out what feels best in your hands. My 228 is a bit slimmer than a 226, which really made the difference for me. It's even narrower with E2 grips. Brings it close to a Glock in grip size.

Best expression ever. And totally true too.
I don't take more than 100 rounds with me to the range usually, and I clean (nagant) when I get home.
You guys would recommend cleaning the 190 before I even take it anywhere, correct?
You guys would recommend cleaning the 190 before I even take it anywhere, correct?
Have you shot it yet and cleaned it after shooting it, or did you buy it used?
You guys would recommend cleaning the 190 before I even take it anywhere, correct?
I would. Break her down and give her a good cleaning and lube anything that comes into contact with anything. At least that's what I would do.
Have you shot it yet and cleaned it after shooting it, or did you buy it used?
It was my grandma's, hasn't been shot in 10-20 years.

I would oil all moving parts, to be safe. Anything that touches something else when the weapon is fired needs Hoppe's 9. Run a patch down the barrel as well.

In Hoppe's we trust
My dad swears by CLP, says he's used it since he was in the military in the '80s.
So, to do that I'd need some crud for that. I'm sure my uncles got that stuff, but he's a while away, would need a case for it. Hopefully getting gun stuff for hannukah/xmas.
