Snip
Cowell thinks he has such power, "LOOKIT ME, I CAN MAKE SOMEONE FAMOUS WITH A TV SHOW", this is to prove that he doesn't have as much power as he thinks. Besides, XFactor is a heap of shit. They let crap people through the pre-auditions to face the judges purely for TV ratings. I know someone that got rejected, but she's really good. The shit needs to stop.
It's number one right now :D
My reaction to the other songs on the list: "GAAAAAAAASDSAVHXCNIBBkbjklvb" Well except for that Journey song.
Don't buy more than 2, if you read the facebook group you'll see that by doing so and if others do it too, it could get disqualified.
Put this in OP. We don't wanna risk anything.
If you're over 20 and like RATM, you should be killed.
My dad is 42 and he loves Killing In The Name. Please don't kill him On topic: If I'd live in the U.K, I'd help out, but there's not much I can do here.
I really don't get the logic behind this campaign. "Oooh mainstream music is shit, let's get our favourite quasi-mainstream band in the charts!" I mean...what?
I would buy it but i already bought it last year so there is no point :(
Watch as Joe's single shoots to the top tomorrow when the general unwashed public realise a load of nerds are trying to beat their lovely Joe.
I really don't get the logic behind this campaign. "Oooh mainstream music is shit, let's get our favourite quasi-mainstream band in the charts!" I mean...what?
There's this thing called NO FUCK YOU which comes around every so often It's really quite a lot of fun, and the internet has put it into full effect as of now.
If it was someone extremely obscure I'd say Fair Play, but RATM are hardly unknown. This marketing reeks of cynical bullshit.
There's this thing called NO FUCK YOU which comes around every so often.
Let me guess, you won't do what I tell you ? If anything, RATM should be discouraging this! They're trying to be included with the mainstream! This actually boggles my mind :psypop:
If it was someone extremely obscure I'd say Fair Play, but RATM are hardly unknown. This marketing reeks of cynical bullshit.
The fuck do you mean, "marketing"?
Telling their fans to buy their CD to beat someone else is marketing. [editline]09:55PM[/editline] Duh
Telling their fans to buy their CD to beat someone else is marketing. [editline]09:55PM[/editline] Duh
Uh RATM had absolutely nothing to do with this up until about today, when the guitarist got wind of it. It was a couple of random people on Facebook who had the idea, and it was second/first in the charts already before the guy even said anything.
I really don't get the logic behind this campaign. "Oooh mainstream music is shit, let's get our favourite quasi-mainstream band in the charts!" I mean...what?
Yeah if we really want to piss them off we should choose something like this.
Although I don't like RATM I'd rather they win than Joe McElderberry. Oh but he's such a darling heart. :gay:
They're not discouraging it. Also I find it hard to believe that A) They didn't orchestrate the whole thing and B) They've only heard about it now. Does not compute. Disregard for a sec anything about the band. Even if this was a band I like, I still think it's an awful idea. You don't want your band to be amongst the mediocrity of the singles chart!
^Stop whining. They didn't want X-Factor to win the Christmas No.1 again, some randoms made a group, picked a sort of popular song they liked, told people to buy it. It worked. I bought one.
You don't want your band to be amongst the mediocrity of the singles chart!
But by doing this, we reach out to EVERYONE. Nothing like this has ever been done before. We're making national news here. People might buy the chart topper to see what it's like, then get into other genres of music... we might turn the whole sad situation around.
Whats for next year, anal cunt? That would be fun on the chart shows. I still need to buy my copy, 65p off play.com.
I would have done it if it was a good song that never got to #1 but deserved to. But it's just a band for angsty teenagers.

A good idea would have been "The Clash - London Burning". 30th Anniversary, and Joe Strummer died around Christmas a few years ago.
A good idea would have been "The Clash - London Burning". 30th Anniversary, and Joe Strummer died around Christmas a few years ago.
Maybe we could do something like that next year.
Hold on, hold on. What are you Brits trying to accomplish again? I think I have this right... You are trying to prove that some jackass doesn't have as much snobbish power as he thinks he does? So a horde of you spend thousands of dollars to get one song on top of another for a certain time of year, just for it to fall back to oblivion a few days later when everyone forgets about this and you realize, no one really gives a shit? Wow, keep up the good work morons. You do realize you are just making the fat cats fatter by buying your shit from iTunes? Simon Cowell probably has stocks in iTunes.

It's gonna be worth it if it breaks the pattern, if we get to see RATM on TV, if we see some goddamn variety in the charts this christmas.
Because they then realize that it isn't cool. It's fucking stupid. And I love Rage Against the Machine.
And I love Rage Against the Machine.
Then for the love of God, buy it off play.com or amazon or one of the other five billion websites you can get music off What else are we going to do? I don't give a fuck if Simon Cowell becomes slightly more filthy rich than he is currently filthy rich. It's not like we can take his wealth away.
We should have done Banana Phone instead.
