Then why have we put up with the war on drugs for this long?
Because we're afraid to elect a president who has any real balls. RON PAUL!

because its fucking impossible to find a president we as an individual like the same as the population. ex, i may want a president that HAS to be pro-choice where you might want one that HAS to be pro life, its hard to get exactly what you want that is both good for you and the country.

But the idea behind the "majority rules" rule is that the masses will make the best decision based on reason. The problem with most countries is, the majority don't know shit, and what they do "know" is usually falsified or skewed facts and data made for the benefit of the few (and rich), but made to LOOK like it's good for the masses. It's as perverse as the financial investment world and as self-satisfying as a petty thief.
This pissed me off when I saw it in my email

then what can the masses possibly do? its not even like we choose who we are going to nominate for each party, the parties themselves choose who they are going to back up and endorse and ask everyone else to back down. And i know this is going to rub a lot of people the wrong way, but i think there should be an intelligence test, or a test of current events to allow you to vote. Yeah i know these were used in the past to prevent blacks from voting etc, but there are some people that just vote on behavior (once a democrat/republican always a democrat/republican) and they really fuck up how voting should be where you choose the candidate based on their plan to fix shit. Im just going to stop here because i really dont want to start this shit about government in here because we all know how that ends up on the internet.

I don't think an intelligence test would prove anything. Really smart people can make poor decisions just as easily as a non-intelligent person. And there shouldn't be any sort of test needed to vote; If you live in this country, you get a vote.
And even if you DO choose the candidate you want based off of their plan, they won't necessarily follow that plan. Take Obama for example, he claimed he would get us out of war, but then sent in more troops and into more countries. The only reason we're leaving anywhere is because we're getting kicked out, not because of anything Obama has done. My point is; How do you pick a leader when corruption has taken a foothold in the white-house itself?
