Your mother forgot to tell you that the same swan had been going on a rampage, ravaging nearby villages and devouring travelling merchants. The kings guard and the village militia stood no chance, but you, in your youth, felt no fear as it approached your town. Fearless and bold, blind to its shear strength and the breadth of its size. Its wings like sails, its puffed breast like that of the grandest hull of any vessel on the Queen's seas. The path it laid waste to on its approach to you was fiery and ruinous, your town was suffering, but you stood strong. Whether it was bravery or a need to die, your mother will never know, as she helplessly watched you waltz towards it. the swan looked down upon you, it could barely get a look at your face, as it took no time to gobble up children after stomping their parents to death. In surprise, it let you stumble in your baby steps, as it liked a good show before slaying any fool who might challenge it. It knew few mortals to be this brave, and none so foolish as to do it so young. It laughed as it filled its breast with air to frighten you away, but you laughed. You broke into a giggle, and that grew into a maniacal frenzy of howls and yelps. The swan slowly went silent as it began to flash its teeth, but before it could even attempt to chomp down on you, you leapt up and latched onto its throat. It beat its wings furiously, in shock that any one human could hurt the swan, let alone strangle it. You clenched tighter and tighter, your mother turning to you, struck by your daunting expression and vicious amusement. The swan stumbled over homes, crashed through barns, and stomped on well after well, struggling with every ounce of its strength to loosen your grip. It was to no avail, as the swan tumbled over its own feet and crashed into the towns wheat fields. Its trail of chaos and destruction lead the remaining maimed towns folk to you, all they could do was weep as the terror had ended, and their hero giggled as he rolled off of the fallen swans waste. The town would rebuild, and the fallen could never be replaced, but on that night, everyone fattened up on their fill of tender swan breast and wing.
