the thing is that some rabbits panic when placed on their back, and kick into the air, and since their leg muscles are so strong they can damage their back when doing this, so it's generally ill advised. Basically, if they do it on their own it won't harm them, and some just like to lay on their back, but don't make them do it or they might panic.
