JUST blew a guy for it? I get a feeling that you would probably have to rescue an entire small country from some catastrophe in order to actually get your hands on a bottle of wine from 1907.

On the high end, a 1907 Chateau Lafite-Rothschild sells for up to $5000 per bottle, although it's also sold as low as $320.
So yeah, not exactly a king's ransom there.
If you really want something expensive, you need to go back to the 18th century. A 1787 bottle of Chateau Lafite sold for over $150,000. Granted, it was originally bought by Thomas Jefferson, but still, lot of money for booze that almost certainly had gone bad before WW1.
look at this nerd and his grape juice

Does anyone have that one greentext that was just a collection of funny usernames this guy had seen on Steam and such? It included gems like "Kim Jong Illest" and "Mister Lister the Sister Fister".

wine is for cowards. drink gasoline to improve bone strength and become incredibly good at fighting

Adolf Hatler is a personal favorite
Expensive. wine seems like a whole lot of money for not very much. I mean, there's only so good something consumable can be before whatever you paid for it is far too much.
I mean, paying more up to a few hundred dollars if you really like wine and have money to burn, ok. Excessive but I can understand that. Once you're paying even more than that you're just flaunting how much money you have to burn for prestige or something.

Nah, its the same thing with any sort of luxury product. Think supercars, for everyday driving most of them are worse than a regular vehicle in almost every way, with a ludicrous pricetag to boot, but for someone who really loves cars there's no item that they would rather spend their money on.

I think he's talking about buying super expensive wine to drink. You can drive a $400K car and still have a car at the end of the day, but if you drink a $400K bottle of wine, you're left with a bottle.
