We had to read To Kill a Mockingbird, every guy in the class would bang his fist on the table and pull off a really over-exaggerated south american accent, shake his over fist at the ceiling whenever Nigger was said. Unless you were Atticus or Scout, in which case you said it with distaste and no fist shaking.

This only happened once for me. We were reading A Raisin in the Sun, and when we got to a particular line in it, the kid read it as softly and as hesitantly as he possibly could. The teacher told him to put a little energy into it and reread the line. So, he jumped up out of his chair, slammed his fists on the table, and yelled out as loud as he possibly could "DAMN MY EGGS! DAMN ALL THE EGGS THAT EVER WAS!"
And the people in the room next door had never been so confused.
