I've always thought that they don't, that they just stay with their parents, mooching and leeching off their income, not even bothering to even try to get a job at Walmart or Target, just staying in their rooms for most of the day, only coming out to go to the bathroom or have something to eat.
That or they're just angsty 13-15 Y/Os that REALLY want to blow steam on random people and feel like they're in their full right to do so.

Dude, I'm not shelling out $60 for a game that'll last me 5 minutes. Where's the replay value in a game that looks pretty and has 5 minutes worth of story or action? The scenarios would very quickly become repetitive/limited. I would honestly take something like Battlefield 4 over a 5 minute game just because I can have way more fun with it than I can with that quickie.

That's understating it.
I've played by being creepy-crawly to the max, non-lethal super-stealth, collecting everything I could possibly find, looking for every story piece, enviromental story telling piece and listening to every conversation.
Finished main story in ~40 hours.
Then I decided to look up how people play while doing the "Mostly Flesh and Steel" achievement (no super-powers, just basic kit) and guy makes his way through every level in like 5-15 minutes.
Enough to say I questioned my life choices.
**And I still want to play game 2nd time to go full-lethal.
