[vid]https://media.riemurasia.net/rejected/108801624.webm[/vid]
Should have been no sound until the moment where it turns webm, then characters start talking and some music plays or something [editline]13th November 2014[/editline] You know, to emphasize webm can play sound.
Also needs to restart 3 or 4 times before it actually plays.
More like play 1/3 of the way through then blackscreen, shrink and come back if it feels like it.
I don't really understand why people compare webm to gif, gif is an image file format, webm is a video format
right click open video in new tab
I don't really understand why people compare webm to gif, gif is an image file format, webm is a video format
GIF is used for showing animations and videos. Webm is used for showing animations and videos, but does it better and can still be embedded similiarly.
GIF is used for showing animations and videos. Webm is used for showing animations and videos, but does it better and can still be embedded similiarly.
Actually, GIF was originally intended to show animated pictures with low color depth. You only see video-GIFs because people converted the visual part of videos into either HUGE or insanely compressed GIFs, but that was not their intended use. Webm however was intended to play videos in the first place, making this comparsion actually really kinda ridiculous.
Old gold.
Anyone got more Allah Akbar vids?
http://nasheed.canopus.uberspace.de/ i still had this in my history edit well shit all those videos were from there

They're both used for the same purpose in this thread. How is that not grounds to compare them? WebM is being used in this thread because GIF is becoming an outdated format.

WebM is being used in this thread because GIF is becoming an outdated format.
What? Until apng is widely supported, there's no way gif is in any way outdated That's why the comparison is ridiculous, videos and images have different purposes, animated or not. This is in fact the same reason why it's annoying when people post a short, small and soundless webm when they could just post a gif, because at this point the only difference would be file size It's just as ridiculous as posting large gifs that are over 40 seconds between loops, that's when it is best to post a webm(aka a video), because they have different purposes.

Simple as that.
