Fuck can't believe I even went along with it, I dropped out straight away. There were lots of fedoras and neckbeards. Lot's of tasteless and unoriginal ideas. Weebos, bronies you name it.
Never seen people communicate with memes in real life before.
There was this one Sonic fanboy that used to carry his laptop around the uni like he was a waiter, listening to music.
I made no friends, I did not belong.

Man I'm in my second year and yeah, the first few months of year one were insane.
We had like 40 people (Free higher education go go), half of them filthy weebs. Those all dropped out fairly soon, leaving the dedicated dudes (and me somehow)
They say our major has the highest dropout rate of any specialty here, so that's good.

I feel like we are generations apart. I took Japanese classes in 2005/2006 and it was nowhere near this bad. I mean, bronies? Weebs? Fedoras? We didn't even have smartphones yet. Everyone was awesome. The teacher was even more awesome.

Foreign language classes always get the weirdos, I remember in my German class there were two guys who did nothing but talk about He-man (keep in mind this was last year), they always opened the windows and leaned out of them (second floor of a building, even when it was snowing), at one point they knocked a fan out said windows too, amazingly it still ran, just smashed the guards.

I took an Intro to Japanese course a few years ago (post 2010 at least), and I don't remember a single weeb there. Most of the people were really cool, and our teacher was an older Kyoto-born woman who was an amazing teacher.
