That's the thing, self promotion isn't even mentioned in the rules, it only says that on the submit page, and even then, reddit's self promotion guidelines are... quite vague

Incorrect. I should know, I work at airport security :v:. Having a big water bottle and saying "it's for medical reasons" isn't going to fly at any airport security checkpoint. There's still, you know, common sense applied to the situation.

A while back I was added by what I thought would be a facepunch user, or maybe from a similar site, since as far as I know this is one of the few places that people vaguely know me from online. Anyway, I had a short and stupid conversation with them but it ended pretty abruptly:
