Most people just scroll pretty quickly through their dashboards, so a bunch of one second gifs allows you to get the message faster than a very long gif; especially since gifs autoplay and often times you won't see the beginning the first time through.

Though usually they're supposed to fly to the takeoff location at critical battery, nor completely remove control.
