You don't even have to block, you can use Defensive Offensive or whatever it's called, it's a purchasable dodge move. It's easier to do and gives you invincibilty frames that you will need in other bossfights. You can literally dodge through fire and not get hit.

It's just a terrible idea through and through. Get a dog instead. The only people I've ever heard of who raise/take care of hyenas and/or have them as pets have large enclosures, multiple hyenas, and are often extremely knowledgeable.

I couldn't get it to work well against Armstrong. Also once you ace blocking, you can do ripostes that instagib enemies and the first few bosses, so there's that.

Yeah, AFAICT normally players don't play cards at the same time. I suspect there's some weird cards that let you play a card in response to another player playing a card, which may be what happened here. Or the online version works differently.

If you have all in your hand you win, there are effects that make you switch cards, redraw your hands chose cards from selections, use your opponents...
There's probably 100 ways it could happen but Exodia was super banned last time i played. But that was in 2007 so who knows.

Could just be a card effect along the lines of "both players draw 3 cards" since IIRC you just need all Exodia pieces in your hand to win, not play them.

Drawing all five exodia cards on your first draw is close to impossible now that you can only have one card of each in your deck.

I guess I missed out on a vital mechanic then. I heard it's really useful on Revengeance difficulty.
Defensive Offensive worked for me on Armstrong, I just flew through the flames when he used them and circled around his back when he came close. Maybe that doesn't happen on Revengeance.
