I've always wanted to play Dwarf Fortress but the the fact that it looks like a typewriter had diarrhea all over my screen has always put me off.

I once tried it, even with some mod that supposedly made it look better, but I still had no clue what I was doing and it was the worst experience I've ever had learning a game.

I hope that a non-ASCII Dwarf Fortress-esque game comes to fruition one day... something like Evil Genius or Dungeon keeper, with 1000x the complexity, but without the vertical learning curve.

Everyone's favourite response now is "it was inevitable" whether it be kidnapping or murdering their cousins.
