The police are not above criticism; it's not a good thing if you can go to jail just for calling someone of any sort an "asshole".

To me it's fairly reasonable that being a total fucking cunthead to a government agent who is protecting and serving the people can be fined.

I never said freedom of speech was unlimited, nor that it should be; I simply feel that calling a policeman an "asshole" should not be an offense.

Yeah. It looks like it's a matter of mentality and standards I guess. Europe and America have their cultural differences, and that's a good thing. There's no clear right or wrong so lets leave it at that.
