The Bechdel Test is both very informative and also fairly pointless. It's surprising how few films in Hollywood pass the test. However, due to not wanting to waste the audiences' time and test their patience, almost all conversations in films are either about the main character, the one of the character's past, or what's going on in the plot. Most of the films that pass the test have female leads, where ones that have male or ungendered leads have little chance of passing simply to keep the conservation of detail. So yeah, it's both useful from a sociology standpoint and useless from a screen writing standpoint.

How to pass the Bechdel Test:
1. The thingy must have two female characters (or two characters that identify as female).
2. They must have a conversation together.
3. That conversation must not be about men or a male character.

but... what if that man is the hero of the story? Or just an amazing person overall?
but... what if that man is the hero of the story? Or just an amazing person overall?
the point is that the amazing person or the hero should be a girl in order to pass the test, and in most cases, very rarely is

still, theoretically it'd be nice if two girls could converse about anything but this wonderful man

the point isn't "the main character should always be a girl"
the point is "there should be at least a few female characters in your movie that have actual personalities beyond 'omg brad is so hot'"
but anyway, content:

On the subject of intentional hilarity, Power Girl's first artist Wally Wood was convinced the editors didn't give a shit so the inker decided to draw her breasts bigger in every issue. It took them 7-8 issues before they caught on.

As far as I've heard, that's just an urban legend and her boobs were always big to show how "mature" she was compared to the (original) main universe Supergirl. However, it is probably true that her buxom design might have saved her from the editorial chopping block after Infinite Crisis because the comic book industry execs were dirty pervs.
