A combat knife? It's a fucking pink knife.
Why is it assumed that a pink knife is such a weapon of mass destruction? Like TAU said, it just depends on what she'd use it for. Knives can be used as a tool in a wide range of purposes, not just to maniacally stab everything she sees. But whatever, chalk it up to a difference in cultures or whatnot. I'm not going to threadshit any more.
Honey get me a special knife with a camo hilt so I can chop my fucking tomatoes with it
Your argument is so piss weak seriously, it's a weapon, that's clearly the context in which it appears alongside pistols and holsters and shit.
I'm european, I just live in australia for now. Done lots of travelling as well, including to america (though I don't suppose any of that is really relevant to what I think)
And the argument you're getting at that guns don't kill people, people kill people, is really beside the point of any gun related debate imo. A gun essentially is the power of life and death in a small device at the push of a button. People should not be allowed to own them. It's a dystopian nightmare concept. it doesn't matter if it's the Dalai Lama who owns the gun. I can guarantee you if I owned a gun I would never shoot anybody unnecessarily with it, but that doesn't mean in any way that I think I should be entitled to have one.
Any such example is null and void anyway, because it's not just me who might own the gun, it's not the collector who owns the gun, it's not the sensible housewife. It's anyone. Anyone can own the gun, and that scenario is fucked
Which is why there are background checks for anyone looking to acquire a gun (it may not work 100% of the time, but there's already a system put in place for a reason.) Again, it is all up to what the person with the gun does. A gun is, yes, one of the biggest responsibilities anyone can have, because of the power to it, but that really does not mean that someone should go ahead and kill people with it. I'm sure there were people in the past who argued the same thing over guns, and even bladed weapons before the advent of firearms.

You are so sheltered that it's adorable. You literally have no clue what you're talking about.
Nowhere is safe from gun arguments.
the only way to stop a gun argument
is another gun argument
Everyone sod off and have your gun argument elsewhere, nobody gives a fuck about any of your self entitled opinions.

i don't understand why americans get so aggressive over people disagreeing with their culture
i mean, ask anyone from literally any other country about something they do and they'll go "yeah man at this point it's just tradition i guess"
then say something about an american thing like "yo, biscuits n gravy are gross" and you'll get yelled at about how you're sheltered and an idiot for not thinking that biscuits and gravy are the best thing in the world
what exactly have u got against biscuits and gravy you islam-loving communisto fascist
Congrats you autists, you have turned this thread into a gun debate.
biscuits are p good but dear god how can anyone enjoy eating gravy, i can't even stand looking at it

Oh, you mean when anyone ever has their culture questioned in an annoying manner? Hmm, lemme think
I oughta cap you, homie

*skudda* *bang bang!*
Oh, you mean when anyone ever has their culture questioned in an annoying manner?
exactly, every time someone finds something about america weird, you guys go crazy and think it's annoying
i'm just saying that people from other countries seem way more used to having their culture questioned, and americans instantly assume that their culture is the 'right' one
obviously i'm not saying ALL americans do this, it's just that i see it all the time, like in this thread just now, i mean seriously, is it really that weird to think that some people may not be used to people having gun collections?
You could say the same thing about a cook's knife collection.
hahahhaha!
A cook's knife collection was created to prepare food. Guns were created to massacre people. There's a pretty big, morbid difference.
Is that the lord of the rings pub in England? I forget the name, the shire or something?
It's called the Hobbit, in Southampton, about a five minute drive from me so I'm there most weekends. The shire is the name of the beer garden within the pub though. They've even got a massive hobbit hole door thing, and the pint cocktails they serve are amazing

they have shots named after other characters too, and you can only buy a Nazgul once you've completed the fellowship, whereby you must finish all cocktails. You also get a free T shirt for it. Fucking love that pub
You are so sheltered that it's adorable. You literally have no clue what you're talking about.
Americans are fucking obsessed with calling people sheltered just because they don't live in America. It's pretty sad actually, because all the people obsessed with guns are far closer to sheltered, because most of the greater, cultured world actually looks down on owning weapons. And they'd probably be aware of that, if they themselves weren't so sheltered and indoctrinated with this American 'it's not about the gun it's about the owner!' logic. Which is completely beside the point, which is that weapons created to kill are not cool. Killing isn't cool. Collecting them is morbid and strange. Using them for sport, is unnecessary, because there are countless other sports that don't involve firearms designed to murder from a distance.
There is a far deeper root to gun obsession that everyone is constantly ignoring in the states, willfully or otherwise, because it's culture is so deeply ingrained. Actually think about it for a second, beyond any surface pleasure the weapon gives you. Think about why that is, and think about the weapons purpose, and think about how many really are used to achieve their real goal. Why would you want to own one, and why is that cool? Does it make you feel powerful, protected? Is it because of insecurities, or an unhealthy curiosity for weapons of death? Come on guys.

Because people here are very judgmental and extremely stuck in their ways and can't look at things from other peoples' viewpoints.
Oh and the knife thing, I can kind of understand it as a collectable thing, a few of my friends have sets of katanas (always arranged on the window cill I've noticed) and they're not violent people and have no intention of using them. I guess they're there for decorative purposes. a combat knife is a little less decorative but I suppose it's the same concept
jesus fucking christ
who cares if somebody are into guns or knifes or whatever, let people spend their lifes doing what interests them
