Rishloo A progressive rock/metal band.
Porcupine Tree PT in a nutshell:
thank you so much for this post, i heard a lot about them, but never got around listening, this is amazing.
Just reppin' my buddy :) http://www.youtube.com/user/G0LDENG
Kyuss is so fucking good. The only bad thing is they haven't made music as a band in forever. I don't think they will ever reunite and this makes me sad :smith:
Agreed, they should totally have a reunion gig or even better record another album, but i can safely say, that is probably never going to happen. Then again, Queens of the stone age rocks, so at least we have them.
Kyuss Lives? http://www.myspace.com/kyusslives
I knew that Garcia was still touring and playing Kyuss songs. It just can't be the same without Homme. I'd still see Kyuss Lives if they came around my area, though.
If you post beatles in this thread, you're an idoit
After The Burial deserve some more respect
:frog:
I realize that my response was uneeded as it was a spelling error I reply, "fuck you this isn't an english essay, deal with my minor spelling error"
It's good to know somebody else has heard of them! What did you think of the new 2010 album compared to rareform? If you'd listened to it ofc
It's good to know somebody else has heard of them! What did you think of the new 2010 album compared to rareform? If you'd listened to it ofc
I definitely like the album but it almost seems like a disappointment compared to pretty much everything on Rareform, especially the guitar work. Rareform was so much more aggressive than In Dreams and that's what I loved about it.
I'm having a identity crisis because of it. I mean, imo rareform was groundbreaking, it was a breath of fresh air in that it was unique, there wasn't really anything quite like it. I too really loved the guitars and songs like The Fractal Effect and Cursing Akenaten were incredible because they were so different I feel that with In Dreams, they've lost some of the individuality. I still think it's an amazing album though, Pendulum and To Carry You Away are my two fav songs atm, I can't get enough of them. However I feel In Dreams has taken somewhat of a more accessible form, as it's easier to listen to than rareform. The guitar work is still tight, but it's closer to more stuff like metalcore imo, and especially the introduction of clean singing underlines this. But then again, there's also Meshuggah-like chugging riffs and brutality all around, so I don't know what to think quite yet. I still think it's amazing though. Long response is long
Long response is long
I definitely think it seems like they go for a more mainstream (for the genre that is) sound in In Dreams. But they do still have a lot of moments in In Dreams where I hear what makes them so different. I've yet to really listen to Forging a Future Self, and I kinda wish they'd do a rerelease of that too cus their original vocalist is awful.
I think they have so too, I still really enjoy it though because I like that style of music, and it's after the burial. And there are little pieces in In Dreams which contain their brilliance I mean goddamn, listen to the solo in the middle of To Carry You Away. That's incredible, that's one of the best things I've ever heard. And Forging a Future self is their 2006 release I think, it would be difficult to come across on a CD, but I haven't listened to it either
And Forging a Future self is their 2006 release I think, it would be difficult to come across on a CD, but I haven't listened to it either
I've come across a few of the songs on youtube and the vocals really ruin it. Live versions with their new vocalist sound pretty incredible though.
I don't think I've actually looked up any of their live stuff, maybe I will
http://www.last.fm/music/Ornithologist They're really good, they have a unique, interesting sound, yet they only have 69 listeners on last.fm. If it was easier to find their stuff online they might be bigger, but the only way to get their stuff is either order their only release or rip it off myspace.
Tesseract.
Enter shikari certainly don't deserve any more fans than they've been lucky enough to pick up over the years. I'd go with animals as leaders.
I agree a thousand times over, Animals As Leaders are extremely talented and they should be acknowledged for that
anamanaguchi, but from what has happend previously. most bands that go mainstreem completely fuck everything over and become shit
Tesseract.
I'm in work listening to cloudkicker 1549 wearing my tesseract t shirt, got an hour and a half before I can actually head off, and I have sod all to do.
I heard a bit of Cloudkicker and they're awesome
I do believe Cloudkicker is just one man (who looks like he's right out of the 50's) Which makes it even better
Periphery and Animals as Leaders because they are both very talented bands.

I think Covenant really deserves more views, I always thought of their music being slightly ahead of time and the stuff from their new album which just came out is really nice.
