I played around with this a little a couple of years ago or something. Fun times, it was.
I can't help but look at that second vid in the OP and think the pose is terrible and so wrong (considering I swing sword about myself)
I remember getting this and going, "hey, it will be like Gmod" boy was I wrong.
I used to have lots of fun with this, but it is quite limited.
It's pretty fun to mess around with, but nowadays it's omgiwanttomakeamachinima.
How much does it cost to get the licensing and software to use it in a game?
If I remember correctly 1067.98 USD. Totally worth it, from what I heard.
I remember doing countless decapitation animations with this. :buddy:
How much does it cost to get the licensing and software to use it in a game?
You can't actually, they only allow licenses to a limited clientele. That's why the creator of Overgrowth programmed his own (superior) animation system.

It's an animation system that works great but endorphin can do so much more. Their engine still needs a LOT of work.
Downloading now :buddy:
Is this the thread where we repost our old Endorphin videos? Okay
The Star Wars demos they did with it made it look a lot more amazing than it actually was. They could have done so much more with it other than windows and doors, and wooden huts on one fucking level.
Correction my friend, all the realistic shattering was NOT done by Euphoria, that was by a different physics engine called DMM (Digital Molecular Matter) http://www.pixelux.com/ :)
Oh i loved this, never got it quit working though..
I made a few awesome .gifs back in the day, I wonder if I could find them again
Shit... I made a music video a few years ago with it, I still use it now and then but eh. It's kind of embarrassing now that I look back at it, I probably could've done better but I was using an unregistered Fraps and Windows Movie Maker, plus the most I could do were actions, I didn't know active posing or animations etc.
Who else started using this and then gave up after a few weeks?
This looks fun. [editline]8th June 2011[/editline] Wow, this is shit, in my opinion.
This looks fun. [editline]8th June 2011[/editline] Wow, this is shit, in my opinion.
once you learn the simple essentials it becomes more easy.
Something I made with this in 2008
Whoah! Totally forgot about that! What ever happened to it?
Completely scrapped if I remember correctly.
Oh shit, i know its a bump, but this shit back in the days is one of the things that got me into 3D. And now i do it for a living.
Oh shit, i know its a bump, but this shit back in the days is one of the things that got me into 3D. And now i do it for a living.
I would wish it was still possible to get my hands on it. I really loved Endorphin, it and ROBLOX made me interested in making 3d games and animation.
People still use this? Wow, I'm actually suprised.
Often debated about making a game that uses an endorphin like engine but changes the approach on how the logic of it's engine applies to the user in such a way that makes basically a dnd esque fighting game. Would have it where the character has internal stats that change how much they can move around and in what in some ways would be unique manipulations to the physical world. A monk who can go quickly and do extra force in the limbs. A psionic who can "influence" basically manipulate a weak force on things. So on so forth. Then I realized toribash existed, and is decently well made and oriented for what people are willing to deal with to act out fights. As the project would have taken alot of interesting approaches to make it simple enough to deal with making and modifying various animations on the fly just enough to have things approach right. It would have required alot of effort to have it well polished enough to consider having players actually act in rather much larger environments than what is found in the common toribash scenario. It also would have taken a bit of a unique engine untop of the preexisting physics engine to even accomplish a proper interface.. All of it, taking way much more time than initially expected. While: Making it almost a rouge like with "chambers" would have made it almost viable for the common computer now n days to calculate and for players to approach moving over a large area or having convenience of movement without expecting the computer to simulate an entire dungeon. Upon clearing a room of the challenge they get to basically free move or click to have themselves port into the new chamber. Making classes/characters who had unique approaches to being basically Puppets on strings would have created diversity in scenario naturally to make puzzling situations interesting enough. Creating what is akin to a Ragdoll fighter often found in 2d format with ability to influence the character very slightly with a weak force that works while they are let's say in the air, as found in many jumping physics of other decent games would have simplified "impossible" scenarios. Making an interface that pauses time so that you can basically Tell things to do an animation. With quick ticks and dragging things would have theoretically made it tollerable to setup how your character would act. Alas all of this is just a would have been and could have been. All from the blink of a moment of me thinking "wouldn't it be cool to dodge a fireball." Would call it Dai kenetic, but that would have been "2 kewl" .
