Oh god....What...what have they done?!!? It looks like a shitty "comedy" aimed at 12 year olds. FUCK!
Knowing the books and how they are a nice read, looking at how this has a dumb humor to it and the actors don't fit their characters, show me this is going to be crap.
The only good point I can think of is Willem Dafoe, shame he's getting a bit character that was no doubt raped beyond recognition.

I'm most likely wrong here since it's been ages since I read the books, but I thought Mr. Tiny was black?
I'm most likely wrong here since it's been ages since I read the books, but I thought Mr. Tiny was black?
Nah, he's white.
Nah, he's white.
Oh, I liked it better imagining he was black. Oh well I still think the movie is going to be a crock of shit.
Oh sweet JESUS I refused to watch the trailer for fear of how bad it was. Watched it, got about 40 seconds in. Said OH FUCK Stopped watching
I didn't even need to watch the trailer, I just had to struggle to hear it over Counter Strike to know it'll probably suck. The moment I heard John C. Reilly I couldn't take it seriously.
Well what another fuck up movie. These were great books when i was a kid. Cocksuckers.
Well, the story sounds pretty cool. I'll go get the book. [editline]03:45PM[/editline]
Well what another fuck up movie. These were great books when i was a kid. Cocksuckers.
Oh, are they childrens' books?
I could swear these books were set in Ireland, where the Shanmeister is from.
Aimed at teenagers they're a good read.
What qualifies as a teenager?
Read the 12 books or so on this ages ago. I've also read most of the demonata series but probably in the wrong order. As i remember the book was good we'll have to wait to pass comment on the film.
What qualifies as a teenager?
12-16 roughly I would guess for these books.
What qualifies as a teenager?
Just read them, I've been keeping up with his other work and re-reading these books for years. I can still appreciate his writing. Though I don't quite like the first one as much as the rest.
What qualifies as a teenager?
13 to 19 years of age
I personally saw Darren Shan being set in England. Or at least where it started.
I personally saw Darren Shan being set in England. Or at least where it started.
Yes, though the American localization changes the language to make it American. And gave it a lamer title.
Yes, though the American localization changes the language to make it American. And gave it a lamer title.
So true, imagine if they put the Harry Potter movies in Alabama....
It's got John C. Reilly so it is a must see.
Oh cool, I hope they make a game out of this movie, that would be so cool! :smug:
I've read all 12 Saga of Darren Shan books and all 10 books of the Demonata series. This is a fucking joke.
Since when do vampires turn into blurry colors like the ink flood from the Page Master? I will probably watch this, back to back with Twilight then probably shoot myself.
Remember how the books were dark, and serious horror-dramas? Clearly they didn't.
Oh, are they childrens' books?
Yes.
Seriously, i have been waiting for this movie to come out ever since i added darren shan to my myspace. i thought it was going to have some potential. god. i cried
To be honest, I think I stopped reading the Darren Shan books after a while because he was literally churning them out at a ridiculous rate. I remember reading the 5th and then there was like 6 more out and I said fuck it.
Darren Shan you fucked up everything :3
