I know a lot of people don't like Doom at first because it's hard to catch his sarcasm/jokes because of his grumbly ass voice, but Mos captures it perfect.

Color him white.
No Rakim? I feel he's kinda' important.
Nowadays it's all Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y and what not. I'm just not about it, old school or no school.
The later albums don't even reach to the knees of the first Wu-Tang album. So much energy, such brilliant rapping (Ol' Dirty Bastard, Method Man, all of them... )
Hmm, why do we call it rap music?
Shouldn't it be called "Hip-Hop" music?
I mean, "rap" is an action, you don't exactly listen to rap music right? You "rap" hip-hop music or some shit like that, I dunno.
It'd help if someone could bring this up for debate.

Rap music and hip hop music mean the same thing, except in the rare cases that you're talking about instrumental music in which case you can only call it hip hop if you want to be pedantic.

Hip-Hop is a culture. Hip-Hop music is the result of that culture. Hip-Hop consists of 4 parts, DJing, Emceeing, B-Boying, and Graffiti. Back when Hip-Hop started the DJ was the center of it all, all the MC did was get on the mic and say a few little rhymes during the DJ's set. Over time the MC gained more and more of a share and people started calling music with rapping, rap music because it's at a point now where it's the focal point of the music. It's really irrelevant though because calling it Rap or Hip-Hop music is really the same thing, but a lot of people like to classify the shitty commercialized stuff as Rap, and the stuff that's not all violence, bitches, money, etc. as Hip-Hop.
There you go.

A funny thing about that is I've heard it a lot, but I've also met people who say the opposite, that "rap" is the music that's about lyrics and "hip hop" is meant for dancing. I guess it's a choose your own adventure thing :v:
