one thing I'm not particularly grasping here is- if you've got the gender of a woman but the sex of a male. how do you change genders if you're already mentally a woman?
because gender is a physiosocial concept. sex is defined except for edge cases (i'm getting this out of the way already: all definitions for sex solely biological have edge cases. deal w/ it) as either being the part or animal that produces sperm or produces egg
one thing I'm not particularly grasping here is- if you've got the gender of a woman but the sex of a male. how do you change genders if you're already mentally a woman?
Cut your hair short
how do you change genders if you're already mentally a woman?
physically
Btw, what happens when Violation finds this thread?
he's the op what does it matter
you are outwardly male but inwardly female they are changing the physiological part of their gender to better match how they feel socially
Look at all these people thinking that someone should be judged/treated based on their gender/sex look at them and laugh
you are outwardly male but inwardly female they are changing the physiological part of their gender to better match how they feel socially
Saying again, What decides what your physiological gender is? Is it all about what you feel is right for you? Does it depends on how you act?
Btw, what happens when Violation finds this thread?
It's already been proven that VIOLATION_SNG is the OP:
guys

to all the "accept him/her/it unconditionally without breaking step" i'd like to see your sibling lie to you for months about something as big as this sng wasn't just not saying anything he/her/it was lying to his/her/its brother's face
Both my mother and my sister were immediately accepting of me when I told them I was transgender. It's not that difficult when your interest for your family member is them being happy, not you being comfortable with it.
Genders can be fluid and can change.
I could decide to become a woman right now if I wanted but it would feel unnatural to me and would only last as long as I put active effort into it All we know is gender develops as the mind develops in the womb, since their are young children who suffer from gender dysphoria. And if gender was a choice and could be changed at will there wouldn't be such a thing as gender dysphoria in the first place really However, it's gender roles and such that are fluid and can change (and are social constructs). That's probably where the confusion is i'm guessing. Please correct me if i'm wrong btw
I'm curious as to how trans people actually get to the point where they classify themselves as trans. Is it just that they think they'd be more comfortable as a girl? I imagine an awkward person uncomfortable with themselves who likes to try on dresses might get that impression, thinking that everything isn't their fault and that they were just born the wrong gender. Not say there isn't mental problems which can cause it but it honestly seems like most of FP are just crossdressers taking things too far.
what is testosterone
Something that changes in amount depending on how manly you act and will increase your chances to attract women. As well as helping your produce semen, grow body hair and whatnot.
Something that changes in amount depending on how manly you act and will increase your chances to attract women.
hahahahahahhhahahahahhahahahahahaha finished high school biology yet?

dgg I can't tell if you're joking about attracting women part. its difficult for me to read and detect sarcasm.
Something that changes in amount depending on how manly you act and will increase your chances to attract women. As well as helping your produce semen, grow body hair and whatnot.
No he's saying the testicles produce testosterone.
I've always thought and been told that gender dysphoria is when you're born as a sex that doesn't match your gender, but now people are saying otherwise and i'm getting really confused
because they like to be special and rather than calling it depression, they call it gender dysphoria therapists like it though so they can charge them even more

RoobL I didn't say it was a choice, I'm just saying some people are genderfluid (They feel like a man, woman, third gender usually changing) or may not truly fit into a single gender. For example those with personality disorders may find their gender changes quite often.
-snip-
because they like to be special and rather than calling it depression, they call it gender dysphoria therapists like it though so they can charge them even more
What? I'm sure the the physiological basis of someone's gender is fixed like their sexuality, but now people are saying it's a choice?
What? I'm sure the the physiological basis of someone's gender is fixed like their sexuality, but now people are saying it's a choice?
basically your gender is controlled by both your sex hormones and your emotions they feel dysphoric because until after they start taking estrogen/testosterone pills their emotions are swinging woman, but their sex is swinging male
So, just curious. If you're a girl in a mans body, would you get turned on by looking in the mirror? Cause if I was in a girls body I'd play with myself all day long.
So, just curious. If you're a girl in a mans body, would you get turned on by looking in the mirror? Cause if I was in a girls body I'd play with myself all day long.
No, most people who feel that way are disgusted to be in a body that they do not want to be in.
hahahahahahhhahahahahhahahahahahaha finished high school biology yet?

dgg I can't tell if you're joking about attracting women part. its difficult for me to read and detect sarcasm.
It helps and I don't see how you can say it doesn't. Unless you're saying the theoretical woman isn't more attracted to body hair, muscles and a generally healthy man. With higher testosterone levels you generally have a higher amount of confidence as well because you act "more manly". The more feminine, unmanly, cowardly and weak you act, the less testosterone you emit. These are trait few women would prefer over the opposite. I didn't say testosterone itself makes you attractive or is the reason, I said it helps.
basically your gender is controlled by both your sex hormones and your emotions they feel dysphoric because until after they start taking estrogen/testosterone pills their emotions are swinging woman, but their sex is swinging male
But that implies there's a hard-wired physiological basis to gender like I always thought there was Btw, in a future society where cultural gender roles and behavioural expectations are gone completely that means there would also not be such a thing as gender any more, and thus gender dysphoria would cease to exist too? And what about young children who suffer from gender dysphoria?
