Thanks for the kind words, I just came back from life drawing, here are some that aren't too messy: [editline]9th May 2012[/editline] Hopefully this one won't die... Unfortunately I can't show you any of my (high)school stuff until October because my exam board is stupid but I've finished my art A level now so I can show you the new stuff I make.

Forgot to go to my life drawing class this week :( Anyways, somehow ended up doing the play poster for my school...again, even though I've graduated haha. Some mock ups of it. [editline] 19th May 2012 [/editline] Maths exam went awesome today !
started the background for the kappa thing [editline]20th May 2012[/editline] Incase it just looks like a blob of random, it's meant to be a swamp. anyone have any tips on drawing these trees faster for the background? They're really boring to draw
just keep it loose and "suggest" as much as possible
I just animated a walk cycle... using thisturorial [ took forever! [editline]http://u.cubeupload.com/jenny7332/BEbsTJ.png[/editline] Tried to shade a face from memory last night, failed miserably, everything looked grey, so I did some practice Using this as a guide More work on the kappa background:
FINISHED IT, and just before the deadline too phwoar Oh yeah, I couldn't be bothered photographing them before, but here are the work up sketches I did before I started drawing the kappa out [editline] 21st May 2012 [/editline] Finished the poster more or less this morning
Splicer sketch [editline] 22nd May 2012 [/editline] Still having trouble with skin tones, any advice on what colours to use for shadows?
someone posted this very useful tutorial in picking colours esp for skin
The color of shadow will vary widely depending on the environment, as will the skintones. In general, though, the shadows will be warmer in color temperature than the skin. What you should really consider, though, is the color of the light surrounding the shadows. If a person stands outside on some green grass on a sunny day, their shadows will be lit up with blue light from the sky and some green from the grass below. If they're wearing a red shirt then the red will be quite overpowering in the shadow under their chin. Generally that means that shadow will be a cooler purply neutral for the most part overall, since the blue and green from the sky and grass will be dominant. All the tones will be a little cooler. If you were under an incadescent bulb, then the shadow can be quite warm, since the highly yellow bulb is throwing warm light all over, which is bouncing off of usually warm objects (think hardwood floors, furniture, anything a little darker brown), but even in a neutral indoor setting will still be warm. Light bounces all over, and because of that the shadows will be most influenced by all of that bounce light, since the lit pieces of flesh have a stronger more dominant light source. Check out some old paintings for observing this - Sargent would be a good one.
Thanks for the advice, I'll try it out in my next painting :) Flying to London today so probably no updates for today and maybe tomorrow (I come back then).
Got back and hadn't really done anything since then... But here's some stuff I did today! Contains NUDITY! sort of NSFW From refs.
Those are very very nicely done Though the face on the latter is questionable
Kyary looks like a doll
Dump from last week: The life drawings ontop of the red are like drawings of the same pose from different angles with the size of the paper and time limit halved each time. I think the first one was 20 minutes on a page slightly smaller than A4. Some animations :D
