This thread makes me moist. Love all the detail you go into, makes me want to try this myself.
I guess I should have done a little update beforehand. I decided to do something different from I'm used to. Styrene plastics. It's for detailing that you see in the front mask part of the helmet. Many people use it for detailing especially with props. It was pretty much impossible (to look good anyway) with only bodyfiller. It would've looked messy. It made life alot easier. Styrene plastics is my new best friend. If you ever need to do additional detailing, you should use that. Before applying the plastic styrene. Heh. The pieces I cut out came out to look like a deer. Cutting plastic Plastic surgery.
Second to Last Update! Well I'm almost done! Just a couple retouches and a paint job then I'm good! Added some details with styrene. Protip: Sanding plastic melts it and it flings EVERYWHERE with a tiny burn sting on your arms and face. Wear eye protection! Worked on the ears a bit. Then worked on it some more... Detailing is tough. I actually had no idea how I was gonna attach the ears back. I cut it out, leaving it for later and now I have to do it. Close up. But I eventually found a way. The ears were probably the toughest part in this project. In the end, it came out how I wanted it to be so all is well. Fuck yeah. So all is left really is spray painting. That will take all day. That's gonna be fun :v: Also, I'm thinking about making mold copies of this helmet. Would anyone be interested in buying this helmet?
Hell I'd buy it :v: [editline]27th July 2012[/editline] How much would you take for one?
if you made me a pathfinder helmet id giva ya 50 bucks for it :/
I'd buy a helmet too.
Personally, I'd like to try to get into this myself, and it'd be REALLY cool if you posted some details. Materials/where you buy them, techniques and whatnot. You seem to know what you're doing, and that'd be really cool.

I will try to make a tutorial in this thread when I have the time.
if you made me a pathfinder helmet id giva ya 50 bucks for it :/
Try around $200
That looks bloody amazing so far.
Damn right it does. (Paint is still wet on top lol)
why do you prefer having the edges scuffed as if it was used and put through some good use?
I like the battle damaged look.
Hot damn I wish I knew how to do this stuff, that's amazing
I gotta look into this kinda thing.Aside from having a facination for masks, particularly african tribal masks, I gotta make me a Borderlands Psycho mask. Go scream at some fools.
Holy shit I respect the fuck out of you. Are you making the full armor, or just the helmet? Either way, this is fucking awesome
Thanks man. I would love to but with me going back to college and not having a garage to work in will be difficult. Plus, the people who were making the papercrafts (unfolding it) didn't start on the armor so...yeah. Just a random question to anyone who would know. Are there places where they have workshops you can work stuff like this in the city? Not having a garage while in college would be tough.

There are a lot of local makelabs/hackerspaces which are basically just garages where everybody chips in to buy tools. My local one also provides classes (Makelab Charleston).

Research time. Also Yeah....
galo sengen really
Galo Sengen is practically the theme song for Tribes : Ascend.
galo sengen really

"I'll put the Tribes Theme first for the opening credits then out of no where Galo Sengen the thing is if it gets popular people will have to hear galo sengen...........which i have no problem"
heh.
That is fucking amazing! I kinda wanted to do full Diamond Sword Pathfinder armor myself but I don't have the slightest idea in putting things together like this though. I kinda want to know how you did the helmet at least, it' be pretty cool if you made a tutorial. Great Work!
If you don't want it stolen, post the final picture with a sticky note with "REDDIT SUCKS" written on it. Foolproof.
Looks great, mang
