I do have to hand it to Bear McCreary, his work on BSG was incredible.
Currently watching the BSG: The Plan. Really awesome.
I just started watching this series and am near the end of the first season. Very cool show so far, although some of the ridiculously unrealistic aspects of its depiction of space are occasionally unintentionally amusing, since it's an otherwise fairly hard sci-fi universe. Edit: And I can't even begin to understand Baltar. He voluntarily builds a Cylon detector to help the fleet, but doesn't report a certain pilot to Adama/Roslin the instant he knows?
[sp]Well the whole point behind not revealing Boomer or... others is that he feared they might kill him.[/sp]
That's what I figured, but it's not consistent when being the guy building the detector in the first place subjects him to direct attack, such as from the scientist that looks like Six. It's like one minute he's working in the interest of the fleet, even when it puts him at risk, and then the next he's not revealing a clear and present danger to the entire fleet because it might possibly put him at risk.

It drew implications away from him. Baltar is on Baltar's side.
Currently watching the BSG: The Plan. Really awesome.
I didn't like The Plan nor Razor. I'm not sure why though.
Only part I liked from The Plan was the Cylon attack on the colonies, mostly due to this: Fucking intense. Has anyone here ever been to Bear's concerts, by the way?
I liked the ending. I still don't really get the whole Invisible god like balthazar and 6 model but whatever, the Finale was still pretty cool. You think wow, we had all that, and just gave it up and went back to the stone age

I was kinda surprised I was kinda right lol [/sp]
Nice awesome video. Loved the beginning of it, pianos are always awesome.
I'm about a quarter of the way through Season 2, and I just have two questions- does Gaeta ever become more than a minor character? I think he's an interesting character, but doesn't seem to get much attention. Also, do the humans have much in the way of guided missiles and computer aiming? It seems a little anachronistic for everything to be aimed by hand. I know there were missiles used in the asteroid raid, but is that it?

I don't know if this will answer the question but humans don't want to use computer guided anything in fear that the cylons will take control of it. They use old technology because of that; they still use wired phones, no automatic doors, no network, etc...

A missile in flight is doing its own thing, it doesn't have a connection to the outside world through which it could be hacked. Although it's an interesting thought that the people in BSG are skeptical and downright superstitious enough about thinking machines that they just avoid it for less than practical reasons.

It's like the US Navy using World War 2 or 1 era boats (more realistically, a WW2 era carrier) to fight SkyNet. Why risk using networked computers against an enemy that is a computer? They even comment on it in the first episode, saying something like "Galactica represents a time when we were so afraid of our technology that we looked back for safety". And it's funny, because it's that very reason Galactica doesn't get it's ass handed to it, when the entire Colonial Fleet got utterly destroyed because of Baltar's nav program.

Missiles can be jammed but they're inherently hack-proof.

Why not just use all the old stuff from the old series? They were in the new one
I'm thinking Variants. The Pilot/TV Movie must be done soon, the began Production in early February. Also one of my favorite tunes from the series was from Season 2, the redone original Series theme. The OS theme was used through out the show in bits and pieces (Also in Caprica) my fave bit would have to be from a Season 4 track played (seen below 2:30+) when you see the [sp]Fleet fly into the sun[/sp] Sorry for any errors, I typed this out once already but the Mac i'm on decided it wanted to move back a page and I lost it all. Thank god I'm leaving Thursday no more Mac.
That concept art looks awesome. God I can't wait to see it.
A rather...interesting arrangement. Favorited by Bear himself!
Why not just use all the old stuff from the old series? They were in the new one
The old series had a lot of stuff that was really weak, poorly designed, or downright cheesy. I don't think a new prequel should be shackled to the original material. Besides, the old stuff is in the new series only as a nod to its roots, since the continuities don't really line up.
2 days ago I was at the BSG Galactica exhibit at the EMP in Seattle. Holy shit was it cool. They have Vipers mk VII and III and they have a cylon raider

I went to the Lord of the Rings exhibit in Houston a long time ago. It was pretty awesome!
I didn't have the good camera with me. My parents might have taken photos of all the props but we were in Seattle for a few days and they took a lot of pictures. It's going to take a long time to sift though everything

I would bet that if Pegasus had it then the cylons with there far more advanced tech where using them back in the first cylon war and such the colonial fleet developed there technology to account for it.
