I've seen both the original BSG and the newer BSG, and enjoyed them both. Would I like Caprica?
caprica is pretty different than bsg. i still dont know what happened in the end though
Love quadrangle bull shit.
what quadrangle? dee offed herself so lee and starbuck's relationship didnt matter and thats kinda about it. it didnt really play any bigger of a part in season 3+ as it did before (where as before it was just random sex)
I've seen both the original BSG and the newer BSG, and enjoyed them both. Would I like Caprica?
Caprica is an entirely different animal. It's a soap opera through and through but with strong hints towards the future to come. And the quadrangle I refer to is between... Anders and Kara, Kara and Lee, and Lee and Dee. It was stupid and poorly written and seemed to have too much of a focus in the season. I did enjoy the occupation of New Caprica and all that stuff though. And really, I barely even remember anything that happened after they found Earth apart from the revelation about the cylons and Dee's death. Might have to rewatch it at some point.
maybe its also that bsg has a set for the bay and that looks cg.
It is CG. It's ALL CG. As far as I'm concerned the trailer looked visually stunning (better than Abrams Star Trek write-off, though still similar in many ways). Lots of incredible environments and vistas that really compliment the hectic battles, plus lots of extra bits of detail in the way of debris and whatnot that I still feel BSG might have lacked. What's going to make or break B&C is the quality of the acting. Bad actors = total failure, simple as that.
cg has its place but god damn you need some fucking sets that hangar bay does not look right
cg has its place but god damn you need some fucking sets that hangar bay does not look right
Maybe they should just take some stock footage of the landing bay sets from BSG and layer some CGI on those to suit the earlier atmosphere? I'm sure there's boatloads of footage that we never got to see in the show that could be re-tooled to suit this series. Hell, maybe that's what they're doing anyway.
I'm pretty sure I read that most of the sets are CG. They scanned the old set species into a computer or some shit before they took them down. Also, fuck you SyFy http://www.imdb.com/news/ni24850353/
I've been watching the newer series on and off for the last year problem is I'm somewhere in the second or early third season and I don't know what the last episode I watched was, and there are a lot of boring episodes to sift through before I find it. :(
Blood and Chrome is promising. I just hope it isn't filled with too much drama, syfy series these days seem to think its a good idea to overfill series with too much of it rather than balance it out with action scenes. BSG was kinda like this but it made up with it in some of the biggest balls to the walls space battles and fight scenes I've ever seen. I just hope Blood and Chrome is more action oriented. ...wait not a tv show? fuck everything SyFy is dead to me
Well from the trailer it looked to have a lot of sex. But then again its the BSG universe. Sex is everywhere.
Welp. http://www.webpronews.com/battlestar-galactica-blood-and-chrome-is-dead-2012-03 Fuck. you. Syfy. :suicide:
Are syfy fucking idiots? BSG has been one of their most profitable franchises and now after several months of hype building and a pilot aquistion they decide not to go with what is essentially a new treatment of the formula of the series? Sure Caprica was a flop, but that's because it was so different from BSG, this would have been a huge success.
syfy are pricks they cancelled SGU

I would be greatly disappointing if they got rid of that. Also, Syfy is going the way of G4, and the History Channel if it has not already.
I just started watching season 1. I feel like I'm missing out on a lot because it assumes I know many things from before. I wanted to see Earth be lost, and I'm not sure why they don't know where it is now because I didn't watch the original series. I hope things'll get answered if I keep watching.

See that's the kind of thing they haven't told me yet, so I'm a bit confused.
See that's the kind of thing they haven't told me yet, so I'm a bit confused.
BSG is all about how mythology integrated into reality. Because of the nature of it, the Colonial Mythology is actually pretty factual- just so ancient that it became muddled in religion and myth instead of historical fact. It's known that humanity originated on Kobol and migrated to a large solar system/stellar cluster and created the 12 colonies of man. The 13th colony supposedly went off and settled on Earth.
Thanks for the clarification mate.
I've always felt that the CG in BSG was decent for a basic cable channel.
Mac did you watch the mini-series before the main season? That might be why you are confused.
No, I didn't even know there was one.
No, I didn't even know there was one.
I made the mistake of starting without watching the miniseries. It's essential, it's basically the first 3-4 episodes of the season, but presented as one.

They were talking about stuff I had no idea what the fuck it was. Than I found that there was a miniseries(really its just a three hour long movie). You really have to watch it before watching the series. Stop where you are now and watch it.
Right, I'll just have to stream it now then, because I'm watching the series on TV and there's a new episode tomorrow. I'd like to get a better understanding of it first. I'll buy the mini series when I bump into it in a store later.

I don't think I can get Netflix in Norway.
razor is good mostly cause an Australian asian is a p-hot lineage.
razor is awesome, and she (hottie) was awesome in it like she was in SCC but you'll hate pretty much everybody from Pegasus after watching it, it's got a lot of "what the fuck" moments [editline]7th May 2012[/editline] so does The Plan
The Plan was so boring and pointless.
