I thought the common opinion was that the first season was pure sex, so was the second. New Caprica was where it all started to go down hill.
My wife and I watched all the seasons back to back and loved the entire thing. I thought it dragged a bit on New Caprica, but picked up afterwards. I loved Gaius transformation. Gaius and Lee where the best characters because they had such good development and changes over time. Everyone else pretty much stayed the same, with the exception of the final five. Fat Lee was a bold move. [editline]16th November 2012[/editline]
I'm now on the 14th episode in the final season. Dude it's getting a bit like Lost right now. So much weird stuff going on. Enjoying it a lot!
Almost everything is explained. ALMOST. And the thing that isn't, it doesn't matter. It's best unexplained. Make up your own theory. It will be correct :)
Finished 17th episode in the final season. Adama is such a fucking badass.
Just finished my third time through the series, still noticing new things! Still can't get over how in the final episode [sp]adama uses galactica as a motherfucking boarding ramp into the cylon colony, fuckin' badass[/sp]
i had some issues as a nerd with the last episodes [sp]mainly that the ship cannot jump with the flight pods extended, yet it jumps from the colony with them extended. also starbuck was never explained, and what was up with the cylons suddenly using conventional weapons? I know they explained that it was a close-range fight and it was guns only, but the cylons used missiles at close range before, and some of the weapons they were using just seemed a bit off. Also I noticed that the rapid fire machine guns mounted to the colony actually shoot through the structure of the colony...just a graphics fuckup really[/sp]
If you didn't notice, Galactica's impromptu jump accelerated the process of her breaking apart.
the way I saw it was that the twisting and breaking apart was caused by the sudden relief from the gravitational pull of the black hole, and that the ship could not jump if the pods were extended, like the jump drive wouldn't be able to function with them out. maybe I was wrong
Just finished it, frakking incredible. I had heard the religious aspects were overdone but I think they were excellently played.
Been watching this a bit, thought Season One was really good but have been bogged down in Season Two, honestly I'm getting tired of some of the religious aspects as mentioned above and the shit between Gaius and the Cylon in his head. Will finish entire series though since I hear it's worth it.

Bit dissapointed that Ep's 3& 4 together are only 17 minutes, wheras 1 and 2 were nearly 25 minutes together.
so i just listened to all along the watchtower and realized no part of it sounds at all like the version used in this show... exactly what part of the song had that sort repetition of those two sets of three notes?

Two Halo:Forward Unto Dawn actors were in today's episode They both played Laskey [editline]17th November 2012[/editline] the Commander of the ship reminded me of Admiral Cain
This is the version they use in the series It isn't very similar to the original
at around 3 minutes it starts using that repetitious use of those three same notes two times in a row. that particular part of the piece is what the series uses the most if i could sound it out in text without looking like a retard i would but it's basically the part that goes DADA-DA--DADA-DAA... [editline]17th November 2012[/editline]
which version are you listening to?
both the original dylan and the famed hendrix cover both sound pretty much the same and NOTHING alike the song we hear in the series. like literally if you go back and actually watch it, every time they use that "watchtower theme" it's playing something with a melody far off from all along the watchtower. also i don't think we hear bear's version of watchtower with lyrics anywhere during the series. at least on the overlaying soundtrack. we do however get to hear hendrix's rendition in one of the shittiest endings the sci fi genre has ever seen. seriously the only thing that kept me from breaking something from such a fucking cop out was the fact that they were playing one of my favorite songs to it. now the one in the post above me has SOME elements of the song melodically, and obviously the lyrics are the same. but it's practically a different song simply with the same lyrics and pacing and a few riffs and melodies that are somewhat reminiscent of the original. and it's not because of the use of different instruments at all. don't get me wrong the instrumental version of this song (the whole part in the beginning without the lyrics) is insanely awesome. it just has nothing to do with all along the watch tower. this up until the lyrics start. honestly i can't listen to watchtower if anybody else but dylan or jimi are singing. is that concert version of watchtower available on the ost or is it just the crappy cover? i love that haunting piano riff. i think if it wasn't for this reimagining of this song then i wouldn't have made it past the second part of season 3.
Just about to start the last episode. What a great ride this has been. Such an amazing show. [editline]19th November 2012[/editline] The ending was wonderful. I don't know what people would have expected.
Did you get a tear in your eye when Roslin and Adam where flying around in the Raptor?
Did you get a tear in your eye when Roslin and Adam where flying around in the Raptor?
Yeah, and when they zoomed out and you see Adama looking towards the horizon. Although I could have lived without the epilogue. But it was a nice touch and made things even more clearer I guess.
...an easterly view...
...an easterly view...
Ah yes, when I fucking love the violin part. This show got some fucking awesome music. [editline]19th November 2012[/editline] Or you mean what Adama says? [sp]"I laid out the cabin today. It's gonna have an easterly view. You should see the light that we get here. When the sun comes from behind the mountains, it's almost heavenly. It reminds me of you."[/sp] :´)
I have to stop reading this thread, I'm only in the beginning of Season 3 :v:
The season 3 finale was one of the greatest season finales I've ever seen for any series ever.
watchtower stuff
The musical motif you're referring to is called the 'Final Five Theme' and can be heard prominently in these songs: Here it's pretty much the entire song Kicks in at about 2:00 here And this one is pretty much a long electro-violin buildup that ends the with the motif As for the version of All Along The Watchtower used in the show, it was never released. Bear McCreary said he would release it eventually (like two years ago), but he's a big fat liar and he never got around it.
What you mean this? fucking media tags and youtube removing long link
