FUCK THE THE US. FUCK THIS COUNTRY. Wikipedia. The high cost of the aircraft, a lack of a clear air to air combat missions because of the lengthy delays in the Russian and Chinese fifth generation fighter programs, a US ban on Raptor exports, and the development of the cheaper and more versatile F-35 resulted in calls to end F-22 production. In April 2009 the US Department of Defense proposed to cease placing new orders, subject to Congressional approval, for a final procurement tally of 187 Raptors.[8] The US Senate and House each passed 2010 budget bill versions without F-22 production funding in July 2009.[9] Congress worked to combine these versions into one bill,[10] and President Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2010 in October 2009, without funding for F-22 production.[11] Fine cancel the most bad ass fighter ever created. When the Russians start bombing the shit out of the world and Osama gets f-15s I hope they bomb the white house because America didn't have the best shit in the world. Fucking waist of hard work and and brilliant engineering
This doesn't mean the F-22 is canceled. It means that they are no longer buying any more additional units at the time being due to the above reasons. They can resume production at anytime when they want to.
Thread needs more P-38.
Thread needs more P-38.
Hell yeah, i got a model of one sitting next to me. Incoming massive pic That's my wallpaper. I've seen that very plane in person on the ground :smug: asshole of a curator wouldn't let me touch it though... Glacier Girl is Hawt :flashfap: YES , the SR-71 is epic, it flies so fast that friction causes the entire plane to expand by about a foot. I was in DC a few years ago for an airshow where they were showing off the Raptor, and holy crap that thing is terrifying. Also, they had an F-22, P-51, P-38, and F-35 flying in tight formation, really cool. Can't seem to find a pic though.

Thread lacks this old girl. The B-17, about the only American Aircraft I genuinely love. About 6 years ago I wrote a letter to Robert Morgan the pilot of the Memphis Belle, and a few months before his death I got a letter back from him and a signed Illustration of the Belle.

Beautiful thing to see fly overhead, I can't wait to someday ride in one.
@grimezy wow, that's cool. And my favorite helicopter..
This thread needs moar Corsair
I've never been a big fan of the Corsair. It looks nice but shit is sloooooow and it makes a noise like a diesel tractor. [editline]10:20AM[/editline] The De Havilland Mosquito A beautiful, all wood, aircraft. Versatile and incredible fast - despite its size it could outrun pretty much every Axis fighter. Worked as recon, fighter, bomber and night-fighter. This thing was essentially the special forces of the RAF; they attacked Gestapo headquaters, broke POWs out of prison and generally kicked ass.
