What made you nostalgia?

You said I'm being stupid in the current economy by wanting to stimulate the economy. You recommended saving it. That, remember?
Edit: Can we stop this? It's getting annoying. Still open to suggestions.

You really think that your $400 is going to have any noticeable impact on the economy? That's nothing more than teenage naivety, so I'm not going to attack you for it. In return, however, I expect you to try to take the time to understand my side of the argument.
It doesn't need an upgrade.
Did we ever ask you if it needed one?
Save it, dude. You never know when 400 fucking dollars will come in handy...
Then again, you're probably one of those spoiled, upper-class children who gets obscene amounts of money from his parents for absolutely fucking nothing.
this, oh this. this this this

Let's see, I shouldn't spend extra, extra cash I have. That is bad. There is no point in stimulating the economy. Everyone should stop. Thank you, I am enlightened.

Well played.
The pillow fort thing.

How financially secure are you? Do you have a full-time job making more than minimum wage? Are you in a stable career? How's your job security? At this point in time, would you be able to be entirely financially independent? If not, then there will always be a better, more responsible use for "extra cash" that you have accumulated.
And, again, you spending $400 on that device will not stimulate the economy in any significant way.
The pillow fort thing.
Sounds good.
But in all serious, get a safe room or an emergency kit.
Never know when an apocalypse will hit.
Hey that rhymed.
And, again, you spending $400 on that device will not stimulate the economy in any significant way.
You have to start somewhere
:downs:
Anyways, go for something expensive

Wait! I could fill my room with packaging peanuts.

I could go for the stilts, egg, and pillows. :v:
Stop wasting your damned money and save it for something. like your college shit.

Or the apocalypse.
Stop wasting your damned money and save it for something. like your college shit.
I'm guessing he has quite some time before he has to worry about that. Plus, mommy and daddy shouldn't have any problem covering the costs.

So you're saying that if a 14 year old were to have saved up $400 (Because some of us have been working since before then, even if it's illegal) they should never indulge in anything? Methinks you grew up with jack shit and appreciate every penny.
Now I'm not from a poor family personally but until the past year I paid for a gift if I got it. Just let the kid indulge and stop being a prick.

Not at all. I'm just saying that the device in question looks like a colossal waste of such a relatively large sum of money.
Why not start saving up for a car? I'm assuming that OP is at least 13 years of age, so purchasing his first vehicle isn't too far down the road.
Methinks you grew up with jack shit and appreciate every penny.
I wasn't born into a particularly wealthy family, no, but we weren't dirt poor, either. Just your average middle-class family doing what we need to to get by.
However, I was raised to appreciate the value of a dollar. I was also taught to avoid frivolous spending, especially when that money could be put to better use.
Just let the kid indulge and stop being a prick.
Ultimately, it's up to him as to what he spends his money on. If he wants to get the device, he's going to get the device regardless of everything I've said. I'm just trying to point him in the right direction, but if he doesn't want to follow my advice, he doesn't have to.
A bulletproof car.
A bulletproof car.
OP has $400, not $400k
OP has $400, not $400k
Hence he's saving up for a bulletproof car.
He's got a long way to go

I was also raised to appreciate the value of a dollar but one stupid expense isn't going to totally fuck him over. I mean it really wouldn't hurt to save it, but it's still just one stupid payment in his young life.

Seeing as you're in the "FP Drug Discussion Group," I'll assume you do quite a few drugs. Because drugs are a better way to spend money than an Android. :colbert:
So the post-apocalyptic preparation idea is out the window?

Your argument is based upon a personal bias, and is therefore irrelevant.
The OP is definitely the son of one of those filthy rich families that waste their money like if it grows off of trees. That's half k we're dealing with here. Some people would kill for that much money.
You don't know what you have until it's gone.
Your argument is based upon a personal bias, and is therefore irrelevant.
So is yours.
So is yours.
No, it isn't. My argument is based upon fiscal responsibility and personal experience. AwesomeCanadian just used a cheap Ad hominem tu quoque attack to attempt to undermine my credibility.

"You must be from an upper-class family and that's a bad thing" sounds exactly like a perosnal bias to me.
