Fuck yeah, humans rock. We have technology and art and we take great care of ourselves and our fellow men. Enough said. :) Oh and duh.. of course one can be proud of being human. It just means that one is proud of the whole human kind and its achievements. Just as one can be proud to be part of any group. It's just the opposite of being shameful. Stop being so picky, geez...
Proud to be human? Yes. Proud to be American? No.
No, i want to be a half human half shark. Have a nice day.
All of humanity should become a big empire. I nominate this guy to be our leader:
Yeah, we have the technology to make it to the moon. America only got there first because they were so caught up in their dick-measuring contest with Russia. That's not really something to be proud of. "HAHA WE FINISHED FIRST. COMMIES SUCK BALLS LOL. CAPITALISM FTW"
Eventually this dick-measuring contest did take us to the moon, y'know. Competition is healthy, because you want to make sure you get the highest possible results, and as such you're going to raise the standard. Though I'm wondering, what technological breakthrough went on for the good of mankind, something that'll change the future drastically, in the past 15 years, besides computers? I'm thinking about steam machinery here, that machine was the start of what we have now. :v:

It's pretty much single-handedly responsible for all advancement in electronic technology since the 1960's. To beat this you will probably have to invent something like the quantum computer.
Nope. I believe pride is reserved for personal accomplishments, and I didn't have to do a fucking thing to be a human so I take no pride in it.
Ofcourse. I have nothing to compare it to therefore being a human is the best possible thing to be.

The invention of electricity wasn't essentially a wheel too, more or less our time's particle physics. The fuck am I even talking about, I should just go sleep already :v:
We've done better than the last sentient species. Survival of the fittest. Also we're fucking up less and less now, so no need to bitch and moan about some goddamn pandas that fuck too slow and eat too much, or some shithole country in Africa that commits genocide on gay people and foreigners. Or the now pretty nice country that used to do the same.

Glad to see I can get different opinions and start discussion about this. I really, really want to thank everyone who posted here just for taking a few seconds or minutes to answer this. You make me feel happy for the next 20 seconds. Even if your post was pointless. [sp]Yes, I'm talking to you Mr. half-shark.[/sp]
I dunno, being a bird would be pretty deck.
I am proud to be a human, and nothing less. Humans have an infinite capacity for creating, and as long as we can get back to the mood of the late Victorians humans will always be looking forward to the future and willing to build and innovate.
Sure is great working in dangerous factories at the age of 7.
Sure is great working in dangerous factories at the age of 7.
You do know that laws began to be passed outlawing that in the early 1800s, a full century before the time I am speaking of?
Being human is so much fucking better than being any other animal on earth. We live long enough, we have intelligence, we don't eat each others shit and we are actually conscious of our existence and how small we are. There are a lot of humans that have shitty lives, I somehow feel extremely lucky to not be born in a third-world country, living in middle class suburbs.
I go to the zoo at least once a week just so I can act all smug around the animals there.
I'm not entirely sure really. I'm leaning towards yes do to all the things we have accomplished like building cities, curing diseases, creating the internet, and going into space but then there where many idiots throughout history and even today that make me question ourselves.
You do know that laws began to be passed outlawing that in the early 1800s, a full century before the time I am speaking of?
In the UK yes
I can't be proud to be human. It's not an achievement. It's just the way I was born.
After watching a lot of Carl Sagan, I feel pretty damn proud to be human. People are capable of awesome, wonderful things.
In the UK yes
And that by 1901 children had free education, and you could not work under the age of 12, with the liberal reforms over the next decade helped a deal.
I guess so yes, it is okay to be "human" and yes we can be capable of great things but we are very limited. Our brain is the most amazing thing about us, it is just a mass that can comprehend, analyze, inter compare everything, but out side of that we are not much at all. Physicality is our worst problem, while yes some of us can achieve great things physically most if not 9/10 of us rely on some sort or tool, rather it be as simple as a rock or hammer to mash something or be it car to travel or computer to communicate and learn things, like we are doing right now. We are advanced and lucky yes, but also limited.
In before (well yeah, after) "edgy" teenagers vote no. Personally, yes. I'm very proud of being human. Even when we eventually fuck everything up, we will still have accomplished way more than any other species in terms of scientific development. This is of course coming from the man who would, if given the choice, choose setting foot on the moon above living a happy and full life with a family.
Going to the moon would probably be worth it as you could get back and find a wife and make kids later.
Am I proud to have the ability to change peoples' lives for the better and make them happy? Sure. Am I proud to live in a society where scientific advancement is put far below materialism and a failing monetary system? No. Am I proud to be part of a society that advocates the discrimination of people based on sexual preference or gender? No. I am proud, however, that I can do my best to change things that trouble me, like the things listed above, and I'm definitely going to try. When I'm feeling depressed at being a member of such a disgusting species I find listening to some music or Carl Sagan always helps.
I'm not proud, because, in my opinion being proud of something like that is pretty stupid, but I sure do like being human.
Extremely proud to be human. Also, "To War Is Human" +3 Agility (Points if you get the reference).
I was proud, until USA came along :(
Yeah well good luck aiming with claws on your back and a dick in your ass.
Oh hey, a butthurt furry! You're missing point right there, my friend. I'm one with the gun and I will have no regrets pummelling your ass with 12th gauge or making .44 holes in your head before you even could see me. But that is in hypothetical situation. And you're unfortuanetely in real world, and still a human, and I doubt you ever will be one of those wierd things you're fapping to. You're nothing but a human with a weird fetish. Sorry, but seems like you have to deal with it.
