Covers were clear everything inside was painted black.
The white one was quicker.
But all using oem equipment and aligned to spec. Never got flashed except once when towing.
Most people don't understand how sharp the cut off is and when u hit a bump and the cut off goes up they think its the high beams.
Happens to me all the time, thinking I'm being flashed, before quickly realizing it's just the bumpy roads.
I have 2 sets of 35W 12K (Perfect Temp. btw) HIDs. One set in the stock reflective headlights, and one set in my projector fogs. I've never been high beamed for the 8 months that I've had them. Most people fuck up with aiming to high or going higher than 35W in a reflective housing.

Theres a lot "wrong" with just putting HID in a reflector housing period. The biggest thing though is the design of the reflector bowl. Some sorta work okish with HID but 90% don't. Those 90% end uphaving to aim them lower than you should and end up with way too much foreground light, which is hard as fuck on your eyes. Most of the time you wouldn't notice it but drive for 2 hours on a high-way and your eyes will be sore as fuck.
My Factory housings for example threw light everywhere, and had to be aimed ridiculously low not to glare. Since they were so low, my high beams were also under aimed, but that didn't really matter since I could barely see them on with all the foreground glare i had. See the picture below - The height of the beam is almost DOUBLE what it should be - Too much light on the road right in front of me and too much light being thrown at on-coming drivers. Then on top of that theres that nasty halo off to the side. The Projector on the left side performs only marginally Better since its a Halogen Projector, not a Native HID projector.
And don't get me started on Colour Temps. Anything outside of 4300K to 6000K, you deserve a kick in the balls. Blue is for police cars and snow-plows, not your fucking headlights.

Sounds like you've never seen 35W 12k before then. Looks nothing like the blue LEDs on a police car. I've been passed countless times by State Troopers and County Sheriffs, hell I've even been pulled over a few times and not a single one of them have said my headlights were too "Blue" .
12k 35w or 55w are fucking ugly way too blue, imo. Even 8k are too blue to my tastes, and my 35w 6k are slightly blue.
Run white or go home.
I don't know if you guys are accustomed to 55W 12k or what cause mine look nothing like you describe.

K well I wasn't being literal, I know they aren't Royal Blue. But 12K is just retarded sorry.

HELL Look at my own picture. This was a 5000K Bulb that had Tintshifted to ~5800K

Way too blue.
12K Also defeats the F'n purpose of HID. Your lucky if your getting 1600 Lumens out of them. 4300-5000K Produces 3000 and 2600 Lumens.
Then that's your opinion if you don't think it looks good. The ones in your pictures look more like 55W 12k to me cause mine are not that dramatic. I can see just fine with my lights now. Way improved over stock. To go any brighter would be unnecessary, for me anyway.
don't put HIDs in stock reflector housings
just dont
its bad
and everyone will hate you for it
someone behind me had them tonight
i brakechecked the fuck out of him
if you want to get brakechecked, go ahead and put HIDs in your stock housings
i dare you
If you want a bullet to your skull brake check me, I dare you.
(Protip : Got halogens :v:)
Only thing I hate are lifted trucks with HID's that glare right in all three mirrors.
I once had a school bus behind me and in front of me. Me and my friends made shadow puppets on the front bus. Dont be like a bus. Also, if you are going to do it, do it right.

12k has a slight purple to them, where ever you bought them probably didn't sell you a legitimate 12k. Those look way more like a 8-10.
I've got factory stock xenon's in my mercedes S-class, I think they're 6K? they look brilliantly white.

They would most likely be Phillips 85126 or Osram 66140 OEM bulbs. They are ~4200K but shift as they age to around 5000K.

VERY Common with Ebay shit. DDM tuning is the worst, They sell a 5000K for 4500, 5000 AND 6000K, and then sell a 8000K as 8000 and 10,000K.

Going to get 8000K's for the Miata, actually.

Wow, that's pretty awesome. I usually HATE Halos but those are pretty awesome looking. I wish I had the skills to do a retrofit cause I'd love to have a set of projectors. It's to bad the stock projectors are 1k for each headlight from Ford.

Wait so the Shelby posted with the retrofit is a faux?
Hey since were on the topic (heh)
Whats a reputable company for an aftermarket em2 civic (03) projection housing? I dont wanna get some cheap shit that'll break or look bad.

They just added the halos.
The Shelby Is An Oem Housing With An upgraded Projector With A Clear Lense (Produces a nice Sharp Colorful Cutoff) and a Completely Custom Shroud with The Halo.i
If Your Feeling Adventurous tho, your reflector Housings are Nicely Sized and Would Fit Evox-r or rx330 Projectors most Likely.
I've never heard of auto adjust headlights, I thought audi's only have the pivoting headlights that when you turn point the direction you turn. But that sounds awefully useful for assholes that like to flash.
On my BMW E46 Facelifted Coupe, it has what BMW calls "Bi-Xenons" which is basically a HID projector that both self levels via sensors directly on the front lower control arms which monitors pitch. Then via sensors on the steering wheel and power steering mechanism, it turns the Xenon projectors 15 degrees to the left or right. Basically to help you avoid running over Bambi the deer and what not. Also the difference between brights and normal on a Bi-Xenon headlight is that there is actually a mechanical shutter that physically covers half the projector opening that flips up when you switch on brights.
Facelifted E46s have nice cutoffs, but they used Plastic Projector Bowls. They are prone to burning off the chrome or even melting the Bowl.
