Well I learnt something new today, you can fake your death in Australia. I thought that was illegal Maybe this was his plan, to pretend he was dead, cause a huge grieving over his departure, get all his friends and family involved to really stir the plot about this and he'd come back later bigger than ever. "Presenting your handiwork" isn't the same as having visible muscles. I don't give a fuck about whether you have muscles or not.

Oh c'mon, there's a huge difference between "we present our hardwork/take off our shirt" and living with muscles. If you're asked for it or the conversation evolves that way, there's no issue, just don't draw attention to it all the time, which is what i assume people are attacking here.

If anyone genuinely doesn't like you based on the way you look/dress/act whilst you are openly friendly and respectful to everyone, true to yourself and mature (cleared up your bullshit acquired from growing up) then that solely rests on their own shoulders, and there's a billion other people who will like you immensely for doing exactly that.
