So like, concealed up until the exact point you fire it. :v:
yeah thats the point. Sneak up behind a noble and let a keyholing 7.62 hit him.
yeah thats the point. Sneak up behind a noble and let a keyholing 7.62 hit him.
Singe his robe :v:
or just load blanks and now you have a bolt action flamethrower
I love the Vintorez, but its identical to the VAL on the inside, and even when its disassembled its still larger than an assembled SR-3. The wood stock does make it super classy though, nice to see wood on a modern weapon.
That's one of my favorite things about the Vintorez, it's just a Val with a Dragunov stock, not to mention it's a blood full-auto silent sniper rifle. Only in Russia. There's also the 9a-91 and VSK-94, which are basically a cheaper version of the same thing: [t]http://www.imfdb.org/images/b/bf/9A-91silenced.jpg[/t] [t]http://www.imfdb.org/images/a/aa/VSK-94.jpg[/t]
Dunno if the shotgun from the Improvised Munitions Handbook is an honorable mention.

i love urban camo LOVE it
So people don't notice it? v:v:v It's just something that popped into my head.
Glad I know I don't live by you
By the way some guys on /k/ have a project of making and selling a few us-legal repros of the Val. That's insane if you ask me. Also, awesome.
[t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/44/Gerasimenko_VAG-73.jpg[/t] Caseless ammo pistol thingy (Gerasimenko VAG-73)
Anyone got any info on that thing? I'm kinda thinking it's fake, seeing as it has its caliber measured in inches stamped on the side which is kind of not a thing an early 70s Russian prototype gun would have. On the other hand, I have managed to find what is apparently a photo of this thing's internals: [t]http://gorod.tomsk.ru/uploads/64955/1306281971/vag73_konstr_.jpg[/t] could anyone more versed in how gun guts tend to look like comment on whether this looks like something that would actually work as a whole, or is it just another photoshop? Also, these photos like they were taken a bit later then the early 70's - either they're shopped, or at least one of these guns is still around- in which case, why can't I find more info about it? It looks too damn interesting for some gun nerd not to do some more detailed research on it. All the sites I've found seem to just be regurgiating the really unspecific handful of info that's on Wikipedia.
Well, i know a little bit about how guns work, but seeing as how that gun is very experimental i don't really know if it would work. (Does anyone know how a G11 works?) I don't think there's too much info about it since it's a very experimental weapon, i don't even think it got as far as the G11. That double-magazine looks cool as fuck though.

Further up the slide it has "7.62" stamped. Tipped off from Here.
(Does anyone know how a G11 works?)
Clockmakers and wizards. Other than that, you're shit out of luck.

Well that's one weird thing explained.
Clockmakers and wizards. Other than that, you're shit out of luck.
I've got half on an encyclopedia made in the late 80's, and I noticed the G11's mechanism was actually in it. Basically it's a wheel that spins really fast, case goes in, spins, bullet goes out, spins.
(Does anyone know how a G11 works?)
Basically, the magazine is parallel with the barrel with the cases facing downwards (I think). It slides into a rotating....breach thing, then lines up with the barrel. A primer of sorts then gets hit by a firing pin (it's the bottle cap looking thing between the bullet and propellant.) That forces the bullet outside of it's casing (made of propellant). once it's outside of the casing, the rest of the case explodes and pushes the bullet out of the barrel. Then through some sort of gas or recoil system, the rotating breach thing is rotated upwards and picks up another casing. Because it doesn't need to eject any brass, it has a wicked ROF, but that also has a bad habit of causing the gun to run away and fire off it's whole magazine on it's own.
I dunno why but the thought of a g11 getting carried away and wildly firing out of its own volition is hilarious Maybe because the fucking thing should be black and have an aperture on it that glows red and speaks in a soft monotone voice
-tennis racket bag for gun bag-
Dude, this is genius for airsoft. I always feel awkward as fuck walking into the woods with a rifle bag and a few friends haha

Edit: It does on full auto, 3rd burst is 2100rpm. So, AN-94 vs G11? I'll take AN-94, even if it does have pulleys, it beats magical clockwork... [editline]8th August 2013[/editline] Speaking of caseless ammunition and guns that use it, LSAT is still being developed; Textron (as in Textron-Lycoming who made aircraft engines) was awarded a contract for the LSAT's caseless ammo: http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2013/08/07/textron-awarded-2-million-contract-work-lsat-machine-gun-ammunition/

Still, nobody wanted a weird blocky gun with a fuckin' cuckoo clock firing mechanism that fires some oddball new weird round, so they stayed with what they had. I still do like the G11, though. It looks like a sci-fi rifle without any greeble.
I thought the G11 only had a fire rate of 400pm? Edit: It does on full auto, 3rd burst is 2100rpm.
Yeah, and that was the issue. You fire 3 rounds and then 50 rounds comes out instead. Dear god not again. Where's the hero of /k/ when you need him?

And if a bunker or lightly armored tank needed blasting it was there. Really, it's a very niche and impractical weapon [editline]8th August 2013[/editline] Either way lighting a smoke of any kind with the starter flame on a flamethrower is badass. No two ways around that

No two ways around that
In a sense it's impractical but it's extremely effective. If you're inside a cave somewhere on Iwo Jima, the last words you want to here are "Fuck it, bring up the M2". Those napalm induced flames are going to ruin your day.
Incendiary grenade. Weighs a lot less and doesn't make you a red barrel with legs
Incendiary grenade. Weighs a lot less and doesn't make you a red barrel with legs
P sure those didn't exist back in 1945. Only way of delivering devices like that was through artillery shells or B-29's.
P sure those didn't exist back in 1945. Only way of delivering devices like that was through artillery shells or B-29's.
They existed. It was called a molotov cocktail.
