It could be a replica. I saw one in a Latvian flea market going for about $2000.
Have you seen the videos out of syria? They walked into a govt. storehouse and there was a whole pile of them with ammo!
A more interesting thought is how the fuck did she get her hands on that and why would they use it? I'd imagine ammo for the first assault rifle ever would be pretty scarce.
Prvi Partizan still makes 7.92x33 Kurz

After the war ended, Japan and Germany had some issues with weapons disappearing because their government stopped existing for a little while. Japan had issues with Yakuza after the war because they were easily able to break into unguarded military warehouses and steal military grade firearms very easily (granted Japanese military grade weapons weren't great to begin with..).
Syria even got their hands on some Panzer IV's that they used against Israel in the 60's. Most of them came from France and a few other nations that were using them for landmine testing, but it's not hard to figure they got a few through more dubious means. So it's not really hard to imagine that everyone from small organized crime groups to larger nations like France got their hands on some stock piles of STG-44's and 7.92 kurz and sold them off to whoever wanted them.
As far as the ammo goes, like Mac said, the Syrian FSA found a warehouse chock full of the stuff. As long as the ammo was stored in air tight cans, which it presumably was, it's should function just fine. I've shot ammo out of my mosin which was older than what those rebels are firing.

Just noticed their were quite a few comments on this post i made about the top SKS being tacticool and how dropping 200 dollars a polymer stock for an sks would be a waste and just wanted to point out that I prefer the appearance of finished wood stocks on sks's and I've actually had two of them (a Norinco and a original russian one) that being said, i had a polymer stock on the norinco, and actually liked shooting it quite a bit more due to the pistol grip, side folding stock was useless and the rail attachments were fun but out side of a forward grip with built in bipod it didn't make or break the weapon.
it all comes down to preference, and its not tacticool till i start throwing flashlights on there and shit.

I also had this .303 that i liked quite a bit, it was a little rough for wear on the stock but had a great bore and the action was in great shape, had a hard time selling it though since most people in my area are pistol fans.
Plus an old photo of one of my SKS's

I've always thought it was funny that when you throw a woman a rifle, they always have that awful leaning-back stance, and then complain when the rifle kicks them around. What makes it worse is that nobody corrects them.

This.
If your going to take your lady friend shooting, at least be nice enough to correct her stance so she doesn't end up hurting herself with that god-awful chick-lean.

Anyone who hasn't fired a gun and is scared of the discharge will kinda take that distanced grip on it. Sure looks hella dumb but it's easy just to point out to them how to properly shoot it. and how that grip is terrible.

I swear my sister is the worst offender of this. She was getting knocked around by an AR because for some reason she was trying to limbo while she aimed. I was going to let her try the mosin but I'm p. sure it would have literally broken her back in half.

not as bad as when my twin got knocked on her ass when firing my M44.

And neither of you thought about correcting them?
Last time I was on our cottage and our cottage neighbors from that island where over for dinner, we had a small shooting contest with our family's old gold Haenel Sports Model 33 air rifle.
And even then I corrected those whom didn't know how to shoot correctly. Despite it only being a pellet rifle.
Looks heavy and pretty useless. You're probably better off with more body armour than strapping a big lump of dead weight to your gun
Ahem..

When I think of tactical attachments a 10/22 needs, I think of battle plates.
And neither of you thought about correcting them?

Like I mentioned in my post prior to that one, I think it's dumb that people don't correct them. I drilled it into my twin's head not to lean backwards like she was, yet she did so the moment the rifle was handed too her. Probably has something to do with the weight.
I think it would be more practical on something heavier, such as an LMG or an HMG. Yeah, adds weight but you're going to get targeted if you're suppressing an area with heavy fire so the added protection is nice, i suppose. But would likely be most practical on something mounted.

yeah not really. It has a recoil negation system (thus that huge tube going over the top of the gun) and it also weighs over 40 pounds.
yeah not really. It has a recoil negation system (thus that huge tube going over the top of the gun) and it also weighs over 40 pounds.
Yap it has recoil negation, but still recoil is hughe if you dont belive, just check any video on YT with this riffle...
No, that does not have huge recoil, this does:
This video has been around for a few years but I like it. You can check out the original video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nOkO8...
Enjoy.
The 76mm High-Impulse Weapon System (HIWS) is capable of hurling the 2.2-pound payload of a 3.3-pound round more than 700 yards in an indirect-fire mode. In a direct-fire role, the HIWS can engage targets out to 300 yards.
Touting a sophisticated recoil-mitigation system, the weapon produces no back blast and no overpressure, making it possible to fire the system from an enclosed space - even from inside a vehicle. The HIWS is also relatively quiet: Ear protection isn't needed when firing the system.
It is manufactured by Lacroix Pyro-Technologies of France.

Yesterday, I went to a shooting range and fired a gun for the first time in my life. It was a PMR-30.

I really like that glowstick thingie style of sights.

It's called fiber optic sights, they're easier to see in low light conditions too.

PMR-30 is awesome for being .22mag and having insane capacity without the mag sticking out the magwell.
such a shame it's made by kel tec though, real hard to justify $600+ for a .22 pistol.
such a shame it's made by kel tec though, real hard to justify $600+ for a .22 pistol.
You're hating on kel tec like they're hipoint/taurus or something. Their guns are fine. or are you just hitting on their MSRP?
You're hating on kel tec like they're hipoint/taurus or something. Their guns are fine. or are you just hitting on their MSRP?
just hitting the price for them. Kel tec has them listed on their site for like $400, but most everywhere else wants quite a bit more than that. Kel tec never makes enough of one gun since most of their profit goes into R&D
That's because your not thinking about it right, it's not just a 600 dollar .22 pistol, it's a 600 dollars of .22 shooting cool.
yeah but for $600 you could buy some much cooler stuff; everything from an AKM to a original Sniper Mosin Nagant.
a lot of people compare the PMR-30 to the Five-SeveN
not really sure why
[editline]12th August 2013[/editline]
besides capacity
