Actually, that's the M7 Lancer, and in the previous games it had a scope built into it. I figure it got removed in ME3 because of the weapon attachment system.

As for the crusader, I think all shotguns in the ME world can shoot slugs, just that is the only on that can in the games for mechanical reasons.

but when mass effect took the gritty war story turn I couldn't take it seriously when most of the soldiers are running around in Bright pink skin tight swimsuits.

And then they made fun of bullets and it really hurt my feelings
