I'm not demonizing or dehumanizing anyone, certainly not by now calling you a gun-nut too. I just find it funny to browse this thread and watch people enthusiastically talk about their guns, knowledgeably too. I just can't help it but find it hilarious when there is a fitting avatar and a title to go with it.

I always thought that was the coolest thing the way the reloading worked on that gun.
On a side note whats the difference between a clip and a mag?

Also, magazines are required to have a sort of feeding mechanism, such as a spring. If you're manually moving the bullet into place, its a clip.

Well, it's meant to be, there's also civilian 2 and 5 round clips available, although they were issued with 8 rounders.
A magazine is where the firing mechanism is getting the bullets from. A clip is usually what puts the bullets there. For instance, magazines can come in the form of your standard STANAG mag, the tube that shotgun shells are fed into, the well where an En Bloc clip would be placed, the well where you load rounds into a Mosin, etc. Wherever the bullets are inside of (or outside, such as an external box holding belt fed rounds) the gun is the magazine.
A clip can put bullets into the gun, but it doesn't actively act as the source from which the round is fed into the firing mechanism. An En Bloc clip holds the bullets in the magazine of the gun, and a stripper clip can either load rounds into internal or external magazines that are attached or detached to the weapon.
The confusion comes in when people are talking about detachable magazines. A STANAG mag for example can be detached from the weapon, but once is it attached, it becomes part of the weapon. A clip is not part of the weapon. Stripper clips are taken out after the rounds are fed into the magazine, whether that be external like an AR or AK, or internal like an SKS or Mosin. If you think of a battleship, the compartment where the turret's shells and powder are held is called the magazine. It's the holding place for the rounds.

I think it depends on opinion whether these weapons could be considered ugly or cool in appearance. As for functionality I'm fairly sure Sig handguns are held in high regard for their quality. Thoughts?

Depends, what's it's price? Considering it's just a flare gun and you'll literally never find grenades for it, theres not much reason to spend more than a few hundred bucks.
