I was watching a show called alphas recently and spotted an orange tip. It's like they aren't even trying.
It is a syfy original thing though...
Have you seen any of Freddiews videos on youtube?
They don't really have to try anymore with modern animation.

Hating on polymer in 2013, hows the rock working out for you?
Playing lots of EVE lately.

Also carbines from the Napoleonic Era.

I know you are just making a point about how you like carbines from the Napoleonic era but I noticed straight away that the picture is of a denix replica. Funny thing about those is that particular denix replica is well known for falling to peaces when being dry fired.
No reason to really make this post just thought I would share that peace of info.

But their guns don't have orange tips. I don't really understand the point you're trying to make.

According to Bungie, this weapon has the highest WPG count of any weapon ever made.
[sp]WPG being Wolves Per Gun of course[/sp]
I really thought the foregrip was the grip and that you held the gun the other way around.

pew pew
Bunch of stuff by Aaron Beck, one of the guys who did a ton of concept work for Avatar and Elysium.

I get it's fiction and all that, but even with "dual stage propulsion" how effective could a .15 caliber round actually be in an anti-materiel role?
Maybe the projectile is a really long rod :v:
So I finally tracked down an A2 M203 handguard, bought it, installed it, and went to the range today.

I still say this is the coolest look for an A2 styled AR.

Your avatar is fitting, also I'd say it's just the coolest look for any full-length AR.
And isn't that an A1 style AR?
Well, yeah, most of it is A1. That was the only AR it would fit on. But as far as throwing that handguard on an A2 is mostly what I meant.

Now get an M203 and blow shit up.

As a strictly AM rifle, it would be OK, depending if the round was made of osmium or something in that range of density, as well as reaching orbital speeds, it could crack engine blocks and liquify people at those velocities.

It's science fiction, it's pure lunacy so it doesn't really have to make sense. Same stupid theory behind mass effect's sand-grain sized projectiles or whatever.

Out of curiosity, whered you find one of those A2 heat shields? Also seems like it would get too hot to handle pretty damn quick.

Well it's a railgun, so I assume it just goes really fucking fast.

I was googling around and found a guy selling them on Ar-15.com
As far as the heat is concerned, I only really noticed the heat at the bottom because it's open. My temporary remedy was just to have the sling above my fingers so that I wasn't directly touching the barrel by accident.
hnng i wanna finish my AR
thats surprisingly cheap, I figured it would cost at least a few hundred bucks.
i would build a vietnam era AR if A1 stuff didn't cost a leg
I get it's fiction and all that, but even with "dual stage propulsion" how effective could a .15 caliber round actually be in an anti-materiel role?
the only goal with an anti-materiel rifle is penetration. If they can somehow make that .15 caliber round heavy enough, either by making it very long or very dense, it would be a pretty good rifle for the role.
Getting it moving very fast would work wonders too but a projectile can only move as fast as it's pushed, and gunpowder can only push at about 1500 ft/s if all the variables are right.
This talk of hand-guards and heat-shields has reminded me of a question that's nagged me in the past: are there any AR-15 hand-guards with integrated vertical grips? I'm not talking as in rails or mounting, I mean one where the grip is built in, like an AR-15 equivalent of those Romanian AKMs.

(Incoming "Donkey Dick" jokes)
I doubt it since foregrips and other removable attachments are pretty much the main point of modular rail systems.
there's the magpul moe + mvg if that counts.
Donkey dicks are so fucking ugly. would never let one touch my AK
I doubt it since foregrips and other removable attachments are pretty much the main point of modular rail systems.
Yeah, that's kinda what I'd figured. I was just wondering because one of the things I like about the Romanian AIMS is that the grip still looks like it belongs on the old rifle, I was curious if there was some type of vertical grip setup that'd look fitting on say, an M16a1, or a CAR-15. Because I really like the looks of older-school AR-15s but I find vertical grips far more ergonomic.
