Punt guns.
And then there are guns which I am not sure what they were designed for, besides from damaging oneself.
Punt guns were made to be put onto the punt of a boat- hence the name- for hunting waterfowl. One shot from this beast can kill up to 50 at once.

Every landing you walk away from is a successful landing!
On a side note, There are only two good flavors of Rip it, the rest is gross.
i always pictured the osprey acting like some sort of bird of prey and it lands on sheep while extending its landing gear, but always ends up in an awkward position that it cant get up from
I don't know why but I always loved the A-Class L2 "Moke" scouting mech from Hawken

I guess because it has such a non-traditional look to it.
Seeing that America has overcompensating "hunting" rifles, I have to wonder if they're designed for hunting elephants or if they're meant for hunting commies.
Seeing that America has overcompensating "hunting" rifles, I have to wonder if they're actually designed for hunting big game, or if we're arming a militia in the event of a North Korean invasion.
If you're talking about those Nitro rounds, they're just for fun and target shooting. The rifles capable of actually firing the round weigh far too much to actually be fired from the shoulder, let alone used for hunting. They're bench rifles and range toys, thats all.

yeah thats not really true at all. Despite having shit gun laws, theres a bunch of countries in euroland that have plenty of gun clubs and ranges. You know that guy that posts all those great photos of AKM's and other surplus rifles on /k/? That dood lives in Switzerland.

Check out the cool stuff they can buy in the Philippines:
Norinco Type 97A

"What I can afford . Don't mind the bipod, it's just an airsoft one for the photo. It does have the happy switch plus a 3-burst.
Our brilliant lawmakers just came out with a law prohibiting full-auto weapons. Semi-auto only up to 7.62mm (no, they didn't specify what 7.62mm). However, full-auto firearms bought/registered before the law went into effect (around May 2013) are allowed to be kept. However, secondary market transactions (registered full-auto sales between qualified individuals) and the right to inherit such firearms are still gray areas because the implementing rules for the law are still being drafted. But gun owners are not expecting anything positive. Gun rights advocates are too busy with infighting and other matters to focus on the real issues.
The norinco type 97A is a 5.56 NATO firearm. It is also capable of using the SS109 cartridge as well as the M193. Except for the ammo, it is identical in specs to the military issue Type 95 of the PRC. Had to have a gunsmith fabricate the picatinny rail though, the dimensions of the handle are specifically for PLA scopes. Essentially, it is the export version of the Type 95.
Funny thing though, its bayonet lug can use the M16 bayonet and is capable of firing rifle grenades (according to its manual). One just needs to set the gas regulator to 0.
Firearms and accessories here in the Philippines cost an arm and a leg. Prices are about 3 to 4 times the sale price in the States. For example, an MKE MP5 would set you back around US$5,500.00 and an HK version would be around US$ 10,000.00. A Bushie costs around US$3,500.00 (but one has to check carefully as there are a lot of forgeries floating around). A Norinco CQB M4 would be US$2,000.00. That's excluding registration/licensing fees of approximately US$ 250.00. Assuming of course one gets clearance from our National Bureau of Investigation (sort of an FBI), the Directorate for Intelligence of the Philippine National Police, court clearances, psycho-neuro test, ballistics for the firearm, among other requirements. There are shortcuts but they are risky and expensive and some requirements cannot be done away with. But these units are full-auto.
The Norinco Type 97A cost me, excluding registration fees, around US$ 1,300.00. The "C" version (a shortened one) costs around US$ 1,500.00 However, as mentioned in my other post, no full-auto firearms by gun stores are being sold as of May 2013.
P.S. Another thing, high powered firearms are to be kept at home. If one wants to go to the range, the gunsmith, etc, one has to apply for a Permit to Transport. Only pistols are allowed to be carried (Permit to Carry) but the process is also tedious (a lot of requirements including a Threat Assessment from the police authorities).
P.S.S. It comes with 4 crappy Chinese mags (with lead followers at that) and a poorly written Manual (at least it has one). Recommended medium for cleaning - gasoline."
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the 97 model also have a larger STANAG magazine well and a smaller trigger guard? Although I've seen 97's with 95 style guards, so I know they can be changed.

The .600 and .700 Nitro express rounds both originate from the UK, .585 Gehringer comes from Australia as well. The British were the ones hunting big game Africa when they were still going through their imperialistic phase during the 19th and 20th century. .600 Nitro express was first made in the very early 1900's.

From the guy in the pic
Just so everyone knows I was a passenger not the pilot.
Story Time. Now everyone forgive me im typing this out on my mobile. This was roughly halfway through my deployment. My unit had been doing helo raids and helo inserts for months before this happened. So everyone was somewhat used to getting rained on by hydraulic fluid which shoots from everywhere when these things fly. Somehow you convince yourself that cant be a bad thing. So we departed our FOB late night the plane was operating as nomal we had a 45 minute flight. The crew Chief looked back and gave us the 5 minutes till landing. The osprey is going in for its lading everything is still ok. Now when these land there props rotate and make a loud pop, This time though it was deafining you knew something was wrong it felt like the osprey was having a seizure. Its pitch black you cant tell how far you are from the ground then it hits. My body was instantly in pain. As you can see in the picture we landed on a ledge and it pinned the rear hatch of the bird closed. We had to exit out of the right door gunners exit. Everybody on the plane was instantly ordered to get into a defensive position. Mortars started coming in about 10 minutes afterwards. This is just a gold mine for the Taliban and a nightmare for us Marines. There were still other Ospreys around when this happened so what did the pilots of this bird do? They jumped on another Osprey and rode back to the FOB. Meanwhile we had to protect there plane. I always figured this was one of those things like a captain goes down with his ship. A convoy from a FOB came out and dismantled this plane and loaded it up on trucks and hauled it back roughly a week later.
