You can fire it without it knocking you down, you just have to know what your doing and hold it firm and correctly. Any firearm that was made to be fired by a man, is going to function without disabling the user.
I thought most big game rounds were made in America?
Very few of them are, and the ones that are are all repurposed military rounds. Big game hunting is largely a European thing, since Americans don't typically trophy hunt.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the 97 model also have a larger STANAG magazine well and a smaller trigger guard? Although I've seen 97's with 95 style guards, so I know they can be changed.
The QBZ-97 is the export version of the 95. It's chambered for 5.56 NATO and as I recall currently in use with a Chinese PMC, and the 97A is in use with the a Cambodian special forces unit. The smaller trigger guard is standard on the 97A and B.
This is a pretty dumb question, but it came to me after a great deal of admiration of the sawn off lever action pistol sized shotgun zoe carries in the television show firefly. Really most if not all the weapons in that show are fucking awesome. Even the scepter thing in serenity. Either it knocks out people in the radius or it slices them. Either way pcool.
Large tangent aside, is there any way to conceal carry a shotgun?
I know it's a stupid question simply because of the destructive properties of buckshot, it would be like ccing a Mac 10 or one of those mini sized p90s. But I just thought I'd ask for the hell of it.
Also Zoe's gun is really fucking cool.

you put the shotgun in your waistline or on your back. wear baggy clothes or be fat
also "mini sized p90's" special thoughts there
"buckshot supr destructiv" Don't you want to be destructive when you pull out something that you carry incase your life is threatened?

But what about when you are not expecting it?

You would have to be shortbus special not to look at that round then look at the rifle and expect there to be no recoil. With a round that size, if you're able to shoulder the rifle, you better start leaning forward and brace like you're about to be kicked by a mule.

You can buy one of those today, its called a Mare's Leg and its classified as a pistol, comes in 5 or so different calibers; Made by Chiappa and Henry, probably others.
Didn't mention Vera at all?
Concealed Carry a shotgun...have you ever watched Terminator? Kyle Reese does in the bar scene.
This one was made to be CC'd or put in a vehicle:

Aww that's lame it's just a normal repeater, not a shotgun.
Still pretty badass though.
Also there is a miniaturized p90 model. I think it comes with an integrated silencer
I know you guys hate Taurus, but I got to shoot a public defender, and shooting shotgun shells out of a pistol is always gratifying.

And I mean legally cc a shotgun.

Best part about using shotgun shells is ammo diversity.
I just recently saw this 12 gauge round that was essentially a stun gun bullet.
I want a shotgun shell filled with salt and pepper. I'll walk up to a bowl of pasta and go BAM~! There's your seasoning bitch!

i think the concept of shooting buckshot out of a pistol is pretty neat, but the pellet groupings on these things are non-existent.

Yea, with buckshot, but we used 6 shot and it has a great spread as far as self defense goes.

Yea, but you can only shoot 2 1/2" shells so you can't use all of em in that one haha.

I think you can do that, just clear out the shell and just use the primer.
I think you can do that, just clear out the shell and just use the primer.
It wouldn't really work like that, you'd need to put the wad back or something. The primer might give some sort of force, but nothing that's going to push it out the barrel, it's just to create the spark to light the powder.

Isn't that a winchester "trapper" model or something like that.
Isn't any sawed down lever action rifle generally referred to as a "Mare's Leg?" Or is that a specific thing? I'm not entirely sure.

Zoe's gun is a Winchester model 1892 with a cut down stock and barrel as a reference to the gun Steve McQueen's character had in Wanted: Dead or Alive. the Rossi Ranch Hand is a clone of that gun, and didn't come out until 2010
Um hi guys.

Have a nice day okay?
The wood stock gives me wood of my own
Also they already sell rock salt shells. Funny cause I always wondered if you could use it for bulk seasoning...
[editline]9th September 2013[/editline]
And the hand guard should be wood. Otherwise it looks a little of balance
Is that even possible? Seasoning something by firing a shotgun shell full of seasoning at it, I mean.
That'd be hilarious if you could do it from close by without breaking the bowl.

No, any seasoning isn't going to have the thickness or weight to be effectively propelled any decent distance with any sort of accuracy, and if you try and do it point blank to whatever food you're "seasoning", you're just going to send it flying because of all the hot gas escaping from the end of the barrel. Pretty ridiculous notion, honestly

Some awesome high speed photography and interesting stuff about ballistics
the english is a little rough, but there's some amazing shots and information in this.
So, this friend of mine, as mentioned earlier in this thread:
Me and my friend were at a museum once and I showed him some wheellock guns and explained to him what they were.
His response was
'pick up a w(h)eel gun'
Recently I tried to explain to him that Revolver ≠ Magnum after I noted that in video games (we were playing video games at the time) the 'heavy pistol' kind of weapon always tends to be a Desert Eagle or a Colt Python or some form of revolver
he proceeded to dig in his heels and nonononono'd
his arguments were something to the extent of "Gordon Freeman would be like 'well I better use everything I find, like this gun that oneshots everything'" and "Well dude have you seen the rounds revolvers fire"
Because, y'know, .38 Special, the most popular revolver cartridge in the world, totally more powerful than the 9mm cartridge
on an unrelated note, here's a Smith & Wesson Light Rifle
