The 103 though could do some pretty agile clutch-braking maneuvers; I wouldn't say it not having a turret wasn't an issue, but it not having a turret wasn't as much as an issue as it was for other gun carriers. It's armor is also really really heavily angled, not impenetrable but I would think it would pretty tough to penetrate with modern guns of the time. I don't feel like working the math to calculate it's effective armor when you take into account the thickness and angle, but I'd bet it would thicker than you would think.
Angled armor ended because modern armor relies on materials, not thickness or deflection. That's why all post-1980's tanks have very boxy designs.
You ever played binocular-football? That's how dogfighting in a 109's cockpit feels, according to veterans who flew both those and Allied planes.
Don't talk shit 'bout my waifu. Jk. I know it had some design problems (being difficult to land as one of them), but it was still a very well performing plane, otherwise they wouldn't keep spewing out new models of it, right? ..Right?
It's gun is also fixed in the turret, and it would angle it up and down by tilting the entire hull. Look how far back the barrel goes, however. It's sort of like a bullpup tank. Like the Swedish Stridsvagn 103, also known as the 'S-tank'. It's problems were numerous, though. -Being Swedish
Be kind to our neighbours, Riller. Unless they cross the ice, then you can feel free to beat the everliving fuck out of them. :v:

Well armed, but didn't fly all that well in it's turn radius or top speed. Probably a better interceptor than fighter. The FW-190 was generally superior in most every way. The reason you'd want to keep making a mediocre fighter throughout the war is that a new design is expensive to make, risky due to chance of new, possibly worse flaws, and a logistical nightmare in spare parts, training and retooling of factories. [editline]28th October 2013[/editline] Also, Sweden aren't our neighbours. Germany is, and Canada is going to be soon. But we don't have land borders with Sweden, and we bloody well don't want any! They're across the pond, and they better stay there. [editline]28th October 2013[/editline] Also also... Pretty sure the BF-109 is a dude. It's shape most of all reminds me of Harrison Ford's face, but with a big ol' nose to boot.

A little bit of shooting it's gun, and a little bit of being shot at with other guns. But vast majority of what it'll do would be driving.
I dunno about the "unique hole in the follower to help in loading" deal Every .22 I've seen just has a built in nub, why not just go that way?
Because its a 50's spacegun not overly concerned with practicality.

FireArm Blog posted some more images of that underwater A-91 (ADS) [t]http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Russian-ADS-Underwater-Gun-2.JPG-1.jpg[/t] Looks pretty interesting up-close.
its cool i guess, not that new. shooting underwater isn't really a big thing in warfare.
plus shooting targets above the surface from under water is really fucking hard
I have to chuckle at the idiots over on /k/ and elsewhere who think 'airshit' is the pinnacle of wit. Thanks to 'airshit' the SWAT and FBI officers I've trained with get more force-on-force practice than ever before in the history of American policework. Even the National Guard uses it, albeit in a less formal context. Travis Haley of all people recommended the use of airsoft for training (and oh god no orange tips we're all gonna die). It's an extremely useful training tool and sport neglected by elitists who have grossly exaggerated views of the realism of simunitions (let alone tried to secure the budget to use them on even a semi-regular basis), and nobody keeps the orange tips, not recreational players nor police officers nor federal agents. Under most state laws it's legal (or at least a grey area), it carries no hazard if they're treated properly, and leaving the orange will earn you exactly zero seconds of hesitation if you pull it on a cop. We now return to our regularly scheduled programming. DP-64. A double-barreled grenade launcher designed by the Russians specifically to be used against divers from naval installations. Fires grenades that detonate at predetermined depth, operating similarly to depth charges.
