Coolest/Ugliest Weapons V5 - Bullpup AKs are the best

You know, i see a lot of dogging on the Sten. Yeah, it sucked. Yeah, it was slightly better than shooting with a cardboard box but it did what it needed to for the time and that's all you could really ask for.
Yeah so did charging at people with bayonets.

If the designer hadn't made the blueprints in crayon the night before it was due, they probably could have made a better weapon.
Here's something curious:

What looks to be a STEN receiver mounted onto a modified (broken?) AR-15 lower. Interesting, if grossly impractical.
Curious how they modified that lower. If properly designed they theoretically shouldn't have needed to make any serious modifications to the lower to fit that STEN upper. Though that assumes a certain degree of engineering competency among the people who created that abomination of a gun.
Anyways, that pic reminded me that just about any bullet firing weapon system can be made to attach to an AR-15 lower.

You just got to get a bit creative.

Doesn't take a lot to be better than the Sten, though. Improvements like not using a meat cleaver as grip.

Danish army looking to replace MG3. M60 is one of two finalists.

Ho-ly FUCK does that look boss as all the titties and all the asses in all the lands.
Oh yeah, HK121 is the other. Fuck HK, they cannot into QC and reliability. Don't throw my tax kroner at them!
[editline]6th November 2013[/editline]
Now, HK ain't... All bad. I trust them well enough to make 'police' weapons; SMGs, pistols and precision semi auto rifles. The USP is, by all means, a formiddable weapon, the MP5 is the gold standard of SMGs, and the UMP is supposedly quite great, too. But for military weapons, the last 20 or so years has just been failure upon failure upon failure. An AR180 clone that melts, a M4 mod that freezes and cracks, and a P90 competitor that's so piss weak you have to use it like a firehose to reliably put down anyone.
Still better then the original STEN design
Stens were actually pretty decent weapons - cheap and easy to manufacture (so fucking easy, in fact, that some rebels in nazi occupied countries made their own copies :poland:), reliable, easy to maintain
Sure, they look like some plumber with a substance abuse problem kludged 'em together and the ergonomics range from "ass" to "shit" but there's no denying they kinda owned at the time
And what's a little random discharge when dropped between friends?

Just look at this french motherfucker, him and his Sten and his unbuttoned shirt, giving no fucks unlike the american dude with the 1911

If they can modernise an M60 like that then they can modernise an MG3 like that too.

The MG3 has more issues than lack of rails. It's too heavy; especially at the front, and it's rate of fire is too high for what it's being used for these days. Apart from that, the ones Denmark currently have are from the 1960's, and well... They're literally falling apart from wear.
[editline]6th November 2013[/editline]
In other news, for vehicle mounting, they are actually working on a weapon called the RMG 7.62. It's a three-barreled MG3.
That's right, people. Gatlin MG42.

MG3 too heavy? The HK121 weighs 27lbs unloaded! The M60E6 at 20.4lbs is weigh less than 27lbs! Not only that, but I doubt Denmark has the $$$ to replace all of their MG3s with the ridiculously expensive HK121 @ $55,000 a piece.
Although who knows, Germany is looking to buy 12,000 of them...

The French guy looks totally awesome, and I will admit that I like the Sten from an effectiveness point - it's winning no beauty contests, but it does work impressively for the cost.
Keith Thompson had some pretty cool designs when it came to modular firearms.

I hope I'm not late or fiction guns are exempt because look at this baby:

It's like if god made an assault rifle but then made it more badass with an underbarreled shotgun
It's literally perfect
THE SHOTGUN UNDERBARREL IS A GRENADE LAUNCHER WHAT DO I HAVE TO SAY TO CONVINCE YOU IT'S PERFECT
The prop's a shotgun, but it fired grenades in the movie, which is ten times more bad ass.
The prop was composed of an aluminium shroud, and M1 Thompson for the main gun, a Remington 870 as the grenade launcher, and uses a Franchi SPAS-12 cut down forend and heatshield over the 870.
I suppose you could fire FRAG-12 out of the 870 and achieve something similar...
Also, The M56 Smart Gun (Aliens) is a modified MG42 Machine Gun married to a Steadicam harness, with additional parts added from various motorcycles.
The rifles in Starship Troopers: The Morita series of rifles are the main weapons used in the film, consisting of several variants. The standard Morita rifle is used by Rico and all the other Mobile Infantry soldiers. The full sized Morita MK I is built around the Ruger Mini-14/AC-556 rifles with with an underslung Ithaca 37 shotgun. The Ruger AC556 used is housed in a modified Muzzelite MZ-14 bullpup stock. The Full Sized rifle has the short barreled Ithaca Model 37 mounted underneath the barrel (For convenience, a majority of the Ithacas were actually metal mockups with working slides, with only the real Ithaca being used in a scene with it firing). These weapons also feature an M60-style muzzle brake.
Some wacky designs from TF2 workshop.

When you say "high quality custom parts", what you really mean is a midwest rail system and suddenly the AKM is a custom modernized masterpiece thats more accurate and modular.

When you play it, it sounds like a Parov Stelar song.
It also kills you.

Yea, I lol'd at the tapco SAW pg on the Assault Rifle variant and tapco mag on the DMR version.
Reminds me of the Krebs AK-15, might as well be the equivalent to the Arsenal SA M7 SF "GAME CHANGER".
AK-15 Heres a 5.56 Saiga AK with the ability to take STANAG mags, PMAGS etc., add M4 style telescoping stock, tapco SAW pg, a railed keymod foregrip and a flash suppressor and suddenly, boom, $2,500 "high-end AK"
