Who shoots pigs with .50 AE? D:
Who shoots pigs with .50 AE? D:
.50AE handguns are illegal in Australia (I think. Is it only handguns in less than 50 calibre, or up to 50 calibre?), so it'd be the .357 magnum or .44 magnum version instead.
EDIT: Oh wait, it's even less than that. Handguns have to be .38/9mm or less, or up to .45 if you participate in certain approved sport shooting events (CAS and Metallic Silhouette. And CAS is limited to single-actions so no deagles allowed there, dunno whether you could use a .44 deagle in silhouette). So yeah, most likely .357 magnum Deagle only.

Retards, that's who. .50 AE is clearly a cow caliber.
The 575 TK/TKS tankettes formed the bulk of the Polish armoured forces before the outbreak of war. They suffered heavy losses during the Invasion of Poland, often being the only armoured fighting vehicles available. Due to their light armament of a single machine gun, they stood no chance in combat against German tanks, except the Panzer I, but their small size suited them for reconnaissance and infantry support. Only the handful of tankettes armed with 20 mm guns had a fighting chance against the enemy tanks; in one instance on 18 September 1939 a 20 mm gunned TKS with Nkm wz.38 FK commanded by Podchorazy[2] or Officer Candidate in the rank of SFC Roman Orlik destroyed three German Panzerkampfwagen 35(t) tanks.
Terrible yet adorable.
The UE-57 is actually the most adorable tank ever

The French had the biggest tank ever built

But much like all other things French, the only thing it would ever have a go at beating would be Italy.

[editline]11th November 2013[/editline]
of all the guns id want to collect from this thread, this would have to be in that collection for being semi-auto when everyone else had revolvers still, also name a place and a conflict between 1896 and ww2, and this thing was probably there
Ehm. The mauser c96 was not the first semi-auto

Infantry support, which is why the French and every other European country lost to the Germans. Prior to WWII, tanks were used to break trench stalemates and to support infantry. At the beginning of WWII, the French, Polish, and English were setup in trenches ready for a repeat of WWI and had their tanks (designed for infantry support) in defensive positions. Then while they were sitting in their trenches waiting for a German infantry charge, the Ghost Division rolled through their lines with Panzer II's and III's and shelled Warsaw and Paris into the dirt. Germans used tanks as a spearhead and had infantry support them, not the other way around.

When you mount a TOW on something, it pretty much becomes the most capable anti-armor vehicle on the battlefield.

Just now noticed, but is that an ELC prototype in the background?
Ehm. The mauser c96 was not the first semi-auto
true, but it was the first mass produced cheap semi-auto pistol, and the cousin to this

Not modernized, here is a "modernized" Garand:
ITS AN ABOMINATION!
So, you guys know what weapon everyone loves, but it's really kinda shitty?
The SVD.
When I first shot an SVD, what really stuck out to me was its weight. It weighs less than a 91/30, and despite being a gas operated semi-auto it kicks just as hard as a Mosin. It also has this problem when being shot from the bipod, and to top it off, the scope rubber punches you in the eye every damn shot.
Well, first civie FN SCAR H I found is $3k with 3 mags. A SAGE EBR chassis is $800, and M1A's seem to run between 1.3k and 2k. I'd gladly pay $500 more on average for the SCAR.
Are you hunting GunBroker for SCAR Hs ? 3k is quite high, they should be around 2600-2800 NIB, mags are about $50 a pop when you find them at a retailer.
SCAR Hs have the added benefit of not weighing 15lbs like an M14 EBR after you add a scope and bipod. However, at $2800-3000 for the base rifle, you'll end up paying more in the long run to outfit it than you would getting an EBR chassis, scope, scope mount and bipod for an M1A.

If you're already taking the illegal step of taking your handgun hunting it wouldn't be hard to get a 44mag barrel for your DE either
