what are you talking about, "Great Harmony" is the best name for a battleship ever
you know you are being destroyed by the true spirit of the navy when you see that name

yeah but when you tell your friends that you sunk a ship with the name that roughly translates too "chilly breeze", it doesn't sound like quite an accomplishment.
So is there some correct method of demilling a gun?
... Other than apparently just fucking it up in whatever way you see fit with heavy milling machinery.
[editline]14th November 2013[/editline]
I mean, you can't really put those up for show, or sell them to a collector or anything..
The correct way to to remove every part and only cut up the receiver so to build a new gun all you need to do is get a new receiver
Or tig weld the receiver back together on a form.
Few people have the required skills for that
Or tig weld the receiver back together on a form.
The cuts on a demilled receiver are rarely skillful; the cuts are jagged and inconsistent, theres tons of slag around the cuts and the receiver becomes warped. The metal becomes so damaged that its most likely irreparable, or at least it would just be easier to stamp or mill out a completely new one for much much cheaper.

this is why you buy two cut up receivers, this way you can salvage the uncut section of both of them and have an easier time welding it back together. To do this you would make your own CLEAN cuts on the receivers.

All aboard the cruise ship!
On the subject of ships:

This is the USS William D. Porter. Looks like an awesome ship, but then theres its track record, which is on par with a heavily scripted comedy show.

Living guns, huh?
In my last blog post, I asked how the Kremlin was able to fool the CIA about the nature of its military assistance to Cuba during the summer of 1962. U.S. intelligence estimated Soviet troop strength in Cuba at between 4,000-4,500 as late as early October 1962, when by that time around 35,000 Soviet soldiers had arrived on the island. It was not until October 15 that the CIA figured out that these soldiers were equipped with nuclear weapons capable of destroying major American cities.
One reason for the bungled CIA intelligence was that the Russians are very good at what they called maskirovka, the art of concealment. They dressed their soldiers up to look like "agricultural technicians," in conformity with the cover story. The CIA did not latch on to the fact that the "agricultural technicians" were all wearing almost identical checkered shirts-see photograph above-leading Soviet wags to call the Cuban adventure "Operation Checkered Shirt."

I like the Spore Launcher from Half-Life: Opposing Force better personally.

It's so cute, especially with that idle animation where Shepard pats its head.

Everything from Op4 is amazing. By far the best Half Life universe game. Made my ME character an infiltrator named Adrian in honour of it.

I honestly thought I was the only person who did that.
Also, Aussie SAS have some pretty cool Handguards

To be completely honest, and i'm disappointed in myself for it, but i've never had a chance to play Opposing Force and Blue Shift. Played literally everything else, even bloody Lost Coast, but never those two.
Not sure what my opinion is of this plane.

[t]http://www.wwiivehicles.com/germany/aircraft/bomber/junkers-ju-88-bomber/junkers-ju-88-bomber-mistel-01.png[/t]
Pretty neat, too. Instead of having a functional, reusable JU-88 to run bombing runs, return, reload, fly again; they decided it'd be a brilliant idea to simply put a slightly larger bomb in it, then strap a smaller plane to it, and crash it into the enemy with terrible accuracy.
Well in Fritz's defense they were meant to take down bridges and other exceedingly large targets. You really don't even need to directly hit the target, just drop it close to the target and you'll damage it pretty badly. During the invasion of Normandy, a Mistel nailed a decoy ship and the explosion killed like 30 allied personal on a command ship. The Command ship had to be towed back to England for repairs too.
It also had a shape charge warhead which could supposedly penetrate 20 feet of bunker-style concrete, which is pretty hilarious.

OBJECTION!
They were only recorded to have hit one bridge, which it only did minor damage to; one battleship which was stripped of all equipment and only in-port to look big as a bombing target, and one destroyer that suffered a few casualties and some structural damage, but was quickly repaired. Just because you're meant to hit big targets doesn't mean you're going to hit big targets.

Besides, 1944 and onwards Germany was full of horrible ideas that actively hurt their war effort in production compared to just making what they know works and hoping for a stalemate. Baby's first jet fighter instead of using those rare engines for their proven and highly effective plane instead.
