They are busy working on a conversion kit to turn a H&K SLR rifle, the sporting version of the H&K G36, into a H&K XM8 look-alike.
I-don't-know-which military using the FN FNC with BFAs attached. Camo color/pattern reminds me of Rhodesian camo a bit.
It's the Belgian. You know. The guys who make the FNC, and the primary user of the FNC.
It's the Belgian. You know. No, I don't have every country's camo memorized, especially when there are a million clones of flecktarn, digicam, multicam, and many old style BDU clones, just to name a few.

The F2000 is, so far, not planned for full adoption in the Belgian army.
Wtf is this? xD
Wtf is this? xD
A lawn.

Alright, any guesses as to what this weapon is? I've blurred the info-plate, so don't bother reading it.
S&T Daewoo K11, Korea's XM29 knockoff
The most dissapointing XM29 ever, yes. You pick it up and go like, "It's time to kick some Nork ass, baby!", then you try to take aim, but the sights won't work because they've picked up moisture; and the grenade launcher is bolt action and not semi auto, and then you go like "Well, at least I can use the assault rifle part?" and like... Nope. Barrel is more wobbly than a G36 that's been fired too much.
This totally wouldn't look out of place in Deus Ex: HR.
Personally I thought it kind of reminded me of the X9 conventional assault rifle from XCOM: Enemy Unknown: Something about how excessively bulky and oversized it looks.
It's Czechnology in action. [t]http://puu.sh/5vLkE.JPG[/t]
Nah, the Boys rifle did it first, I think, that was british. Probably even the boys isn't the actual "first"
Nah, the Boys rifle did it first, I think, that was british. Probably even the boys isn't the actual "first"
The vz. 26 predates Boys by a decade or so.
Nah, the Boys rifle did it first, I think, that was british. Probably even the boys isn't the actual "first"
While I can't say whether either of those guns were the first weapons to use offset sights and top magazines, the Boys rifle dates to 1937, the ZB-26 MG to 1923, so its safe to say that it predates the Boys.
While I personally think it's somewhat pointless to argue over the origins of offset sights, the Boys rifle dates to 1937, the ZB vz 26 MG to 1923, so its safe to say that it predates the Boys.
hmmm well I guess I learned something new, was it still the first rifle with offset sights?
The vz. 26 predates Boys by a decade or so.
gorgeous gun
hmmm well I guess I learned something new, was it still the first rifle with offset sights?
Well, I did some digging, and this came up: Vickers-Berthier light machine gun. While it looks quite a lot like a Bren, and directly competed with the Bren in British army testing, the design was completely separate and apparently predates the first world war. Not sure if this is truly the earliest weapon with offset sights, but assuming it really was designed in 1909 then it's the earliest I found.
well since there's balloons in new york, i declair this morning war-balloon thursday! [editline]28th November 2013[/editline] even though they sucked at making zepplins, the U.S. navy is the only force to my knowledge to ever successfully use airships for combat purposes, besides barrage balloons i guess, the german airships of WW1 were more likely to explode on their own than to actually get over british cities
Real XM-8 top, Conversion bottom:
I like how it's ever so slightly less curvy, makes it look a tad better

bulky weapons are great. They've got to be between bulky and "you need to be tank to be able to hold this " (ie every weapon in UT3) MK23 is an example of this. Boxy, big, and b-e-a-utiful no idea why but I love boxy pistols compared to curved ones
I want this pistol so hard right now - it's the Kriss Kard.
