The very first prototype Vector was revealed in 2006, two years after Half Life 2's release.

Bottom one is a BATFE legal pistol since it lacks a side-folding stock. First one would legally be an SBR because it has a stock, and I don't think any company is going to dick with selling SBR's because of how much of a pain in the ass all the paper work and fees are, on top of the insane waiting periods to get the tax stamp required for one.
