Advantages of a Dissy over a regular 16" M4gery: Longer sight radius on your irons. More handguard to vary your grip. More rail to mount shit on, if that's what you're into. Looks like a fucking badass. Channel the spirit of one of the most shootiest gunmen in history. [editline]1st December 2013[/editline]
What makes that not an SBR? Is it the stubby, fixed stock that doesn't count as a full stock or something?
SBR is barrel-length, from chamber to muzzle. Chances are, that flash hider is pinned so it can't be easily removed, making it a part of the barrel instead of an accessory. Also, that handguard is ever-so-slightly longer than a regular 552-length compact handguard, giving an extra inch or two. It's the same deceptive look that goes on with a CAR-15 clone, or a midlength AR15.
What makes that not an SBR? Is it the stubby, fixed stock that doesn't count as a full stock or something?
Well because it's a pistol. It doesn't have a buttstock, thats a brace to use with AR and AK pistols.
SBR is barrel-length, from chamber to muzzle. Chances are, that flash hider is pinned so it can't be easily removed, making it a part of the barrel instead of an accessory. Hickok45 talks about it in this video, the original gun is a handgun because of how short the stock was, and putting a full-length stock on it made it an SBR. That gun Trunk posted looks like it has a really short stock on it, so I thought it might be one of those technically-a-handgun guns too. Unless you only have 1 arm, i don't really see the point of this.
That's probably gone be too heavy to keep stable with 1 arm. Unless you only have 1 arm, i don't really see the point of this.
The point of it is it's a stock that the ATF doesn't know is a stock, ergo you can mount it on AR-15, AK, or SG556 "pistols" without getting arrested. And yeah, by all accounts using it to strap a gun to your arm is pretty awkward, but it's not too bad as a stock.
I just noticed, he has a foregrip on that AR with the strap-stock, which makes it an AOW, so it needs a tax stamp anyway :v:
I just noticed, he has a foregrip on that AR with the strap-stock, which makes it an AOW, so it needs a tax stamp anyway :v:
The AR in the picture was actually a registered SBR, it was from a review of the "stabilizing brace" and the guy did use it as a stock, so he put it on an SBR to avoid the risk of legal trouble. [editline]1st December 2013[/editline] The review if anyone didn't find it already
I really like the Springfield M1D (or M1D Garand) and I dont know why. The sound of the thing is awesome, and its kind of odd, but I love it. [thumb]http://photos.gunsamerica.com/d/11225-1/springfield-armory-garand-sniper-m1d-m84-rifle-telescope-hits.jpg[/thumb] Its weird because its scope of offset to the left because otherwise the sights get in the way, and it also loads from the top. But I think in one of the variants the mount is hinged, so you can put it above them for transport or something.

How'd you ever ping if you got that thing in the way?
Damn, pointed the mount thing out right as I edited lol. Looks here that there is a variant with a mount that has hinges. [thumb]http://cdn.gunsamerica.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/springfield-armory-garand-sniper-m1d-m84-rifle-telescope-mount.jpg[/thumb] It also appears in these pictures too, so I guess its reasonable to assume it was part of the original gun. While we're on the topic, let's just have yet another picture of the oft-mentioned and oft-posted 'tanker' garand. Which isn't an official M1 variation at all. A few prototypes were made, but they never reached production, and as such; any and all you see of them are second-hand modifications. And they're aduwabuul~~. Also, have some BM59. Proving that Italians can fuck up anything, even the Garand. It doesn't even ping any more! What is a Garand without it's ping? Just a shoddy, overweight M14?
it looks like they tried to make the Garand into a pistol and halfway through said "fuck it" and gave it a collapsible stock and bipod. Why does it even need a bipod? It looks like its a carbine.

G3, SIG 550, to lesser extend G36 (Though why you'd want a bipod on a gun not effective beyond 150 meters is beyond me). Hell, after WWII, the trend was to slap bipods on SMGs, too.
Honestly, I can't stand the early M4 handguards. Just screams ugly to me

The only thing you could ever refer to as 'early m4 handguards' are the slim carbine handguards that you used to get on the old AR15 carbines that came before the M4. Regular M4 handguards are just so fat and ugly. Slim oldschool handguards all the way. And speaking of early M4s, [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9988278/gunsnshit/XM4USMC_zpsdfe5c9ff.jpg[/t] I found this, and it's the coolest shit ever since it's just an M727 (which is my favorite type of AR) with 'XM4' written on it.
Man, I would love to get my hands on one of those M1D scopes and a way to put it on mine. So sexy. Offset optics are my fetish.
That's probably gone be too heavy to keep stable with 1 arm. Poleweapons are cool.

No, it's from a promotional video for Sig Sauer's SB15 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsqy73wE5Eo
That is literally the stupidest thing I've ever seen. I kinda want one. Both the rifle, and the hand holding thingy
Poleweapons are cool.
Halberd master race.
Halberd master race.
Pollaxes and billhooks are rad, too. And pikes.
That is literally the stupidest thing I've ever seen. I kinda want one. Both the rifle, and the hand holding thingy
yeah but it's extremely practical since you can't put a foregrip on a pistol.
