Yes, but I was talking about what would constitute a true "Assault Pistol", i.e. G18, VP70M, M93R, OTS-33, Stechkin APS, Mauser M1930/ M1932. They all are true pistols that are select fire, like a true Assault Rifle; I was adapting the term.
Though I suppose if you follow the definition of the german word, Maschinenpistole, coined to define them, it would encompass any select fire weapon firing pistol cartridges.
Its all semantics in the end anyways.

Not always; there are several companies who have called sub-compact 5.56mm assault rifles PDWs or even "submachineguns". Like I said, the naming conventions become semantics after awhile.

They're photographic art, not simply photographs of guns. Artists often use soft lighting or faint silhouettes to convey a mood to the viewer.

but submachine guns are, in fact, machine guns that fire sub-rifle caliber rounds; thus the name. Even if bushwacker or some other ASSALT RAFLE company calls a AR pistol a submachine gun, that doesn't make it one. PDW is closer to the mark.
Not sure I really like the look of Matte polymers, I think a bit of gloss and sheen looks nicer

I'm a photographer myself, I know that some people like to do things differently. But I found it to be somewhat annoying in this case.

OTs-14 Groza. Literally just a bullpup AK in 9x39. How much of a straight chop-job AK is it? Well... Look at the spot below the carrying handle. See that wood? That's the upper handguard of an AK.

Not sure if that's exactly the same but, I loved the living shit out of the AS VAL in BF3.
Absolutely beast in CQC with a lasersight and hip-firing (empties fast though), and still works as a long-ranged weapon firing single-shots through nothing less than the Russian Kobra X1 red dot scope. Not really a dot, but anyway here's a pic.
(Being a gas-masked RUS Engineer with that weapon was awesome, had some really nice infantry montages after my vehicle got destroyed.)

The AS VAL is the same gun as the VSS, but it got a different stock and the VSS usually comes with a PSO x4 as standard. Also, only semi-related, but holy hell that top-left reticle would be shit. I know it's decent in BF4, but it's tighter there, too. The real life one shown got like, three men's width at 100 yards, how'd you ever hit anything using that?

Yeah.. I don't know. It was perfect in BF3. But you know distances/aiming don't even really mean heck of a lot in video games, especially if the weapon is configured as ridiculously accurate, because well it's a limited screen.
But then again haven't some killer war vet snipers used X1 scopes in general, and accumulated the most kills/headshots? Probably not at too great distances though.. but 100 yards doesn't seem impossible?

Simo Häyhä didn't use any optics at all for his shooting due to how that'd make him raise his head higher above the ground to aim, and he's the sniper with the most confirmed kills ever (A lot of them with SMG, though).

And real people generally don't record 'head shots'. A kill is a kill, no matter if it severs the brainstem or it just cuts the artery in the thigh and results in fatal bleeding. Shooting for the head is considered by most to be rather unreliable; a tiny target compared to upper torso area which'll kill you every bit as dead.

but there's a prong in the middle to line it up with the target. doesn't seem like a very practical reticule though.

There's no actual anything on or near the point of impact, only three distant lines that you have to connect in your mind. Decent for very close ranges, I guess, but quite shit for longer. Especially if you're not holding your gun perfectly vertical.

I would believe the correct translation would be bullet spraying pistol. Could be wrong though.
Kulsprutepistol is often referred to as K-Pist though, which is a shortening of kulsprutepistol.
