Well he was shot with an exploding bullet in the jaw.
His rifle's receiver exploded and blew off his jaw, or he just took a round to the jaw, depending on the source you read. He wasn't hit with an exploding bullet, lol.

someone shot towards him with an RPG and he tried to stop it by biting it but it exploded true story
someone shot towards him with an RPG and he tried to stop it by biting it but it exploded true story
Nuh-uh, he personally headbutted the muzzle of Schwerer Gustav.
Nuh-uh, he personally headbutted the muzzle of Schwerer Gustav.
I heard that sniping people with a his Mosin became too easy, so he started using his mouth to snipe by simply biting the casing and hitting the primer with his tongue.
and he eventually stopped using his SMG as he found snowballs with rocks in them to be more cost effective
He also destroyed russian tanks by attaching a bayonet to his mosin and throwing it like a javelin at the tank's engine
What on earth is that and what does it shoot? :v:
23mm barrel from a twin 23mm AA (ZU 23 2) mount that they love to mount on pickup trucks. [editline]22nd December 2013[/editline]
but there's a prong in the middle to line it up with the target. doesn't seem like a very practical reticule though.
Its for a Kobra, its the russian equivalent of a C-More red dot for CQB, you're probably not shooting past 100m. [editline]22nd December 2013[/editline]
Simo Häyhä didn't use any optics at all for his shooting due to how that'd make him raise his head higher above the ground to aim, and he's the sniper with the most confirmed kills ever (A lot of them with SMG, though). [editline]22nd December 2013[/editline] And real people generally don't record 'head shots'. A kill is a kill, no matter if it severs the brainstem or it just cuts the artery in the thigh and results in fatal bleeding. Shooting for the head is considered by most to be rather unreliable; a tiny target compared to upper torso area which'll kill you every bit as dead.
He also didn't use optics because he feared the "target fixation" or tunnel vision that would allow the enemy to sneak up on him.
and he eventually stopped using his SMG as he found snowballs with rocks in them to be more cost effective
That's a myth. Snowballs with rocks were banned by the Genoa conviction in 1905.
I thought he didn't use optics because the main method he used to spot enemy snipers was to look for the reflection on their scopes, and he didn't want them to do the same
or it could be "exploding" by the meaning of it hit something and fragmented? :)
That wouldn't be an explosion.
I thought he didn't use optics because the main method he used to spot enemy snipers was to look for the reflection on their scopes, and he didn't want them to do the same
I thought snipers from WW2 (proper ones) used netting infront of their scopes to avoid that from happening. Fuck it even works with socks, I've tried.
Glorious Shotgun.
Technically a rifle.
Technically a rifle.
Yeah, it has a rifled barrel, and apparently is classified as a carbine by Russia.

Browsing Wikipedia, learned about a cool gun. "The High Standard HDM is a modified High Standard HD model semi-automatic target pistol equipped with an integral sound suppressor.Originally adopted by the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) during World War II, the pistol is still found in United States inventories, including that of the CIA, United States Marines, and Special Forces. Because of legal concerns during wartime, full metal jacketed .22 LR rounds were developed for this pistol." -Wikipedia
the most underrated machine gun ever, the HK GR9
Not much to rate it on. It's a HK21 with a funky scope and different stock, that never reached production. Pretty neat looking, I guess, but that's about it.
