I love the fact that they gave the biggest rifle to the smallest guy. :v:
I saw the Mauser 1918 T-Gewehr in the "In Flanders Fields" museum in Ypres, and boy it looked huge.
Here is the picture i took:

Oh yeah, in the context that someone posted the gilboa snake earlier (too lazy to search and quote);

And to stay on topic, here's a Vickers converted to fire 7.62x54r firing and steaming

I love watercooled guns.

That gotta be the dopiest looking Tiger replica I've ever seen. Now, Red Dawn; THAT movie had some damn good mock-ups.

Yeah Red Dawn had the best mock-ups, and I remember reading the FBI questioned the legitimacy of them cause they thought the soviets were using the movie as a cover up for building an invasion force.

The Hind A and T72/T80 really get me though, they look legit.
The Hind A
When I first saw the movie I had only seen the later models of the hind with the bubble cockpits, so for a while I thought it was the laziest mockup the world had ever seen.
When I first saw the movie I had only seen the later models of the hind with the bubble cockpits, so for a while I thought it was the laziest mockup the world had ever seen.
You clearly haven't seen Rambo II.

Same mockup, but this time without the cockpit mod.
Well Shit.
On another note,
I recall seeing this a few months back as a polish concept tank.

That looks like all sorts of scary. It looks like a fucking shark.

Is that the actual tank? Or does it have the contour hiding shell on it.
what are you on about a tank?
that's clearly an elephant
what are you on about a tank?

Maybe there's a tank behind the elephant?
I'd like to think so. Otherwise that elephant tamer is going to feel a bit daft for wearing tank crewman uniform
[t]http://puu.sh/6jGSK.jpg[/t]
Apparently, this is the tiger replica they had built for that movie, then they just didn't use it.
[t]http://i41.tinypic.com/wss7ti.jpg[/t]
Why the fuck didn't they? It looks far better than that pile of garbage.
That looks like a legit tiger asdf
That looks like an actual Tiger what the hell
I suspect that the proper Tiger encountered some sort of severe mechanical issue too close to filming to fix, so they had to really quickly half ass one.

screengrab from the movie

the real McCoy
from a distance they look right though
apparently the FBI went to have a chat with the producer as to how they obtained a Hind Helicopter, they were apparently dissapointed when they found out it was just a 1/10th scale model helicopter, however they also used real helicopters with bolt-on wings for scenes where it couldn't be used
Quite wrong again. The Hind in Red Dawn was a quite real Puma, vismodded to look like an early-series Hind. You can even see the real cockpit underneath the fake one in the screengrab I posted, in addition to the retractable front belly-wheel and fat side-bulge-wheels.

Something something, tanks have red fur and bushy tails.

I find it funny to see the crewman stood next to the super high-tech modern future tank still wearing a helmet that's barely changed in design since WW2. But i guess if it works, why change it?

Riller is right. Here's a picture of the Red Dawn Hind without the cockpit modifications, from Rambo 2.

and i scroll up and riller's already posted this exact image
fuck
The other mockups from Red Dawn were pretty cool, too. I wonder what happened to the Shilka and T-72s they built for it.

Something about toxic gas going in there to prevent the crew from choking to death iirc.
It's a bore evacuator.
