i'm not entirely sure why but i never paid much attention to the fact deckard's pistol is bolt action that's neat as hell
Late, but yeah, it's a cylinder fed bolt-action pistol.
Anyone got that picture of the prototype Russian tank with the contour hiding shell on it? It looked like a future tank or something.

On another note, I recall seeing this a few months back as a polish concept tank.
Did you mean either of these?
I think he means this
Yes, thank you.
I think he means this
Wow, those look like something out of GI Joe.
Late, but yeah, it's a cylinder fed bolt-action pistol.
It's not though, it's a revolver with some kind of bolt-action attachment he never uses in the film. Gonna quote myself from earlier:
It's not. It's a revolver, it just has the bolt and breech from a Steyr-Mannlicher rifle stuck on top of a Charter Arms Bulldog for looks. Have a look here if you're interested in learning more. Ostensibly, because it has two triggers, the bolt-action part is for some kind of secondary fire never shown in the movie, maybe a shotgun like the LeMat or a non-lethal subdual round for police work.
Speaking of movie tanks: the Abrams mockup from Bulletproof looks quite dorky, same one used in the original Red Dawn. Unlike later mockups of this tank, this Abrams was not built up from a Centurion tank. Same as the ones from the original Red Dawn, both mocked up from an M8A1 Cargo Tractor, which itself was a stretched version of the M41 Walker Bulldog with four return rollers and six roadwheels per side instead of three return rollers and five roadwheels. The MI-24 Hind in Bulletproof is also dorky, being a poor mockup of a Sikorsky S-62: Devastator/Brawl in Transformers The vehicle is apparently a cut-down Freightliner truck chassis fitted with rubber treads from a piece of construction equipment. Not sure what these APCs from the 2012 Red Dawn are mocked up from, Strykers maybe? Notice the lager 'fender' thingamabob between the middle wheel-sets? It's a lot easier to change the hubcabs than the spacing between the axles on a mock-up. I can't quite ID what it is off the top of my head, but I'll have a try. [editline]14th January 2014[/editline] Nevermind, you're prolly right. That dopey looking front is unmistakable. Now just how the hell did they A: Import Pars APCs to the US for filming, and B: Get the spacing on the wheels changed.

Either The Inhabited Island or it's sequel, dunno which.
fugliest apc
You've clearly never seen the Buffel. [t]http://data3.primeportal.net/apc/chris_baxter/buffel/images/buffel_16_of_40.jpg[/t] I think it's neat, but it's not exactly pretty. And it's not real, but the APC from Aliens is pretty fucking ugly too: [t]http://www.inetres.com/gp/sf/aliens/apc00.jpg[/t] I hope you didn't intend on going anywhere other than flat roads with that ground clearance. There are likely more ugly APCs but i think these two are probably the worst.
Speaking of bombers with a lot of wing, the Avro Vulcan is hot as hell [t]http://cdn-www.airliners.net/aviation-photos/photos/3/2/6/0838623.jpg[/t]
its a very classy bomber too, only the pilot and copilot had ejection seats, while the rest of the 5-6 man crew originally had no chance to bail out, the original design was to have an ejectable crew compartment but that was deemed uneconomical and scrapped
Well its not like they couldn't bail. Just had to do it from the door.

I think the Buffel's windows are about an inch thick, hardly any normal greenhouse windows :v: It seems like a good idea and it probably works, it's just a little goofy to look at.

They look badass, they think they're badass, then when it gets real they all die. [editline]14th January 2014[/editline] And here's a Balkan Glock knockoff: Tara TM9, made in Montenegro.
aliens: when big guns were never big enough nor good enough to ensure your survival [t]http://www.imfdb.org/images/thumb/7/78/Aliens_026.jpg/600px-Aliens_026.jpg[/t] [t]http://www.imfdb.org/images/thumb/c/ce/Aliens_2007.jpg/600px-Aliens_2007.jpg[/t] [t]http://www.imfdb.org/images/thumb/5/5b/Aliens_Sentry.jpg/600px-Aliens_Sentry.jpg[/t] bout all i remember from that movie
have a stupid large gun [t]http://www.strangecosmos.com/images/content/187194.jpg[/t]
of course it's large, it's hellboy's gun
Well its not like they couldn't bail. Just had to do it from the door.
well if the pilots have to eject, generally they don't have enough time to bail out, also the doors sometimes got stuck because they didn't sheer off properly
well if the pilots have to eject, generally they don't have enough time to bail out, also the doors sometimes got stuck because they didn't sheer off properly
I know it. Sorry if I made it sound like it was a fool proof way. I would really not have wanted to been a crew member on one of those things knowing that their was a way ejection could be implemented but it wasn't happening.
i only mention the shearing issue because my JROTC teacher was a former airforce pilot and he didn't have ejector seats but he did say those doors jammed when they did drills
of course it's large, it's hellboy's gun
Would that even work? or would there not be any pressure made because the bullet is exposed in the cylinder? or possibly blow up in his face?
Would that even work? or would there not be any pressure made because the bullet is exposed in the cylinder? or possibly blow up in his face?
It looks like the round gets covered by the frame at least when it is in position to fire.
